Thank you for your thoughts on my Domestika course and teaching. It means a lot that you have taken the time to write this!

I know you probably don’t read these comments anymore, but I just wanted to say thank you, I’m trying to repaint my wall mural and wanted to try leaves but it’s hard when they aren’t tiny and forgiving of detail. This is the only video that helped me get a better understanding of how to make it look natural :)

Love it! I've been seriously thinking about switching more to botanical watercolor and getting away from my portrait watercolor painting.

So beautiful. Your process reminds me of Anna Mason, or vice versa, not sure which of you was first on the watercolor scene. I'm slow to the party but I simply love watercolor. I believe I lean to detail and I prefer realistic paintings. I can't seem to help myself. I see the beautiful detail and I want to paint it!

I hope this isn't a dumb question...do you follow the exact veins on your subject or free-hand most of it?

Not a dumb question! I follow as closely to the subject as possible and might even draw the veins out rather than doing it as free-hand as you see here. However, if a few are not quite in the right place I wouldn't worry too much. As long as I catch the essence of the leaf.
