BOTANICAL ART Painting an Arum maculatum fruit in watercolour
www.youtube/c/juliatrickeyart
In this short botanical art adventure you will see me painting an Arum maculatum (Lord and Ladies) fruit in watercolour. Pick up watercolour tips as I use one of my favourite watercolour techniques - wet-in-wet.
I also use masking fluid and Daniel Smith watercolour paints.

Absolutely incredible work
gorgeous drawing! my applause
Lovely!
Amazing! Just amazing and so beautiful! Thank you so much for showing how you paint this (exotic? fruit, never seen it before, very fascinating). It is so great that you show close up how you paint, often painting videos do not show close up, and it is difficult to see and understand what is actually done with the brush, paint and water. I am totally spellbound by watching every brushstroke you do, and how 3D effect is created! I cannot understand how I did not find your channel before, I subscribed immediately. Luckily I have just walked my dog for two hours, because I will now be in front of my computer for quite some time, watching your other botanical illustration videos! Thank you so much for making your videos and for sharing your art. Super beautiful and inspiring! Wonderful! : )
Beautiful work
Bravo You are the Best
Wow you make it look so easy. Thankyou for your easy manner. Some artists sound like they are just plugging their courses or lessons and sort of talk down to you. You on the other hand actually teach us something even if it is at 5 x speed. Im actually learning from you Julia.
thamk you for share your skills
Find the Jackson's Art Supplies website and search for 'sable' then order results by price - low to high. The similar brush should be the first result at £1. Good luck!
Thanks Wandelgart King
Very good! (from a colleague)
Beautiful, what colors are you using?
Very pretty! Would you mind sharing what brushes you use?

My main priority for a brush is that it holds a decent amount of paint and has a good point. So, whilst I normally favour expensive brushe,s this one is a bargain brush, like the one in this link: www.jacksonsart.com/brands/clearance/4-pointed-round-sable-natural-wood-handle-brush-aluminium-ferrule I don't know how consistent the quality is but I have purchased several which all come to a good point.

beads2yarn the brush used here is a size 6 economical sable brush. Sadly it is no longer available for purchase.
Hello, may I ask, did you outline the segments in pen, or is all the dark outlining watercolour?. Thank you

I didn't use any pen, so I guess what you are referring to must be watercolour.
I 'wish' to paint your works in oil!
I went on teachable to purchase this tutorial and it's not listed. Do expect it to be uploaded soon?

Hi Erin. I'm afraid I haven't produced an in depth tutorial for this - sorry! (It may yet happen in the future as I have enough footage. But I find editing a very lengthy and time consuming process. So, I can only make videos as and when time allows).
