I believe the counterfeit attempts will become more sophisticated, and therefore it may be more difficult for people to see the difference between counterfeit and genuine banknotes. Especially for elderly people and people with reduced vision to see the difference.

The counterfeit notes looks like from normal paper… the feel of the note should be different and for a person who handles money everyday, every minutes can’t feel the difference? It’s always human complacency that let crime happened.

They crumpled the note a bit so in the dark, can’t really see clearly. Also usually we don’t get counterfeit notes. It’s common for ppl to miss something that they don’t expect. It’s a common human perception error covered in the book called Errornomics.
