Some so-called loan sharks, are so dumb 🤦🏻‍♀️. If they push people too hard, it's natural human instincts, they will fight back. When sharks do things like set fire to the person's home, or damage something, well, that's just taking away $ that could of gone to the shark! Cuz now the debtors have to pay and fix their property! 🤦🏻‍♀️ And for people who had already paid off, it is so stupid to phone and harrass them to borrow again. Shark called every 2-3 days asking if they want another loan! With that type of harrassment, even IF they want to borrow again, it definitely wouldn't be from the shark who harrasses. He's already harrassed & annoyed them to such an extent, there's NO way they'd want to borrow again.

I never understood, how come that the Singaporean police don't take pre-emptive strikes. Just send some undercover cops to take money from these loan sharks, and after a few months, just bust the whole organization. Why do they only act after the damage has already been done? It wouldn't be so hard to send an undercover agent to pretend he wants to borrow money, then track down everyone along the chain, and arrest the entire bunch. Pre-emptive strike guys, pre-emptive. Don't wait for that call from the victims. But this whole approach is childish. They don't call them loan sharks, but instead "unlicensed money lenders". And they never get real punishment, only a few years in jail. Should be increased to 25 years at least, then it would change the whole scenario. Also, what is this childish stuff with painting the door? In most countries, they go to collect the money with rifles and guns. From all the countries I know, loan sharks have the easiest in Singapore.

Because loansharks need a photo of the victims IC and Singpass details to verify their intentions, if police officers give out their details like that, don't you think the police network would be compromised? Also, guns are illegal in Singapore and the door paint splashing is to harass the victims and identify them to their neighbours as people who borrowed from loansharks. That is not the only thing done, most loansharks will set fire to your front door, padlock your front gate and send people to beat you up and threaten you. YOU are the childish one for not doing research before criticising people online.

But in Europe or in the USA the police have the authority to create fake IC, or ask the bank to create a fake bank account for the sake of the investigation. That is what I partially meant by "undercover". You know, that English word for "disguising your identity", so they wouldn't find out that you're a policeman or your real name and address. "Also, guns are illegal in Singapore"- and it's illegal to collect money with guns in every country (even where it's legal to bare firearms), yet they do. Drugs are illegal in Singapore. Let alone selling them. Do you have drug problems there? You do have. That's what I meant. When I said childish, I wanted to express the ridiculous ways they use. You padlock my gate? Good, I will buy a bolt cutter, most of the padlocks are pretty weak anyway. If they set fire in front of my gate, I'll just change my door to a fireproof one (they usually sell those to businesses, but very often individuals buy it too). I'll install CCTV that they cannot notice. Send people to beat me up and threaten me? Be my guest, bro :) The less funny part of my comment is, I know about actual cases from developed countries, where loansharks killed the 3-year-old child of the guy with a knife. They raped the woman. All sorts of inhumane brutality. But when I see these loansharks, (or should I say, loandolphin?) in Singapore, I can't help, but only to laugh at them. If they harass an elderly person or a weak female, that's different. But setting your door on fire, and splashing paint on it, as if it was graffiti gone wrong, or you would've thrown your cigarette butt into the wrong bin? Give me a break. The Singaporean police is an incompetent organization. They can only operate because the people in Singapore are nice. Send them for a training session to "shitty" places, like Germany, Sweden, the UK, or Canada. The Singaporean police force will not last for a second.

All the ones being arrested are small time ah longs. To go undercover and bring down the 1 boss will take years. Even people who have been doing this for long doesnt know who is the main person behind it.
