“Creepy” Mysteries of Wars

Throughout history there have been battles that have turned the tides, that have decided what country or empire would go on to dominate the world, even battles that changed what languages were spoken in entire regions. But there have also been battles with unexplained phenomena that include entire legions disappearing, ghost planes, stuff that simply hasn’t been explained. Stuff that will creep you out and make you wonder.

The battle of Tutenburg Forest AND it's location(S) is now well documented. The battle did not take place in one spot, nor were the 2 legions "marching to expand their empire." In fact, their campaign season had ended without success and they were returning to their base for the winter. The force was attacked at several points along it's column. Many of these locations ARE known. Very few survivors escaped, but there were survivers. Being a Roman train heading home, the column included soldiers, wives, servants and children as well as pack animals. All died.😢

there were three legions (4000 to 5000) and as normal a similar number of auxiliaries, so in total about 30,000 soldiers not counting armenius aux cavalry, and a few thousand camp followers, they caught the roman column in line of march in thick forest and swamp and cut them to pieces over 4 or 5 days, armenius a german by birth was brought up in rome as a hostage and knew how the romans fought and used this against them. the general varus was a lawyer and related by marriage to augustus he was not a military general. he trusted armenius over his legates and followed his advice.

They had gun cameras on fighter planes during WW2. They would only film when the guns were being fired though, for after mission damage assessment and training purposes, no where near as advanced as the modern FLIR (forward looking infrared) cameras.

During road expansions in North yorkshire items marked as being from The ninth legion were found at a fort some miles north of York, an industrial area was found belonging to them close by. The theory is they went there set up camp for some years and later were transferred to the rhine and disappeared into obscurity. If a unit wasn't fighting, it wasn't reported on.

The battlefield of the Teutoburg Forest where three Roman legions were destroyed by Germanic tribesmen has been located. It is near Osnabrück, Germany. I visited a nearby museum which was constructed there. There one can view many items used by Roman legionaries ecetera.

You left out some of the most important and extraordinary parts about the battle of LA such as 5 people died and others injured from fragments of anti air shells falling back to earth after ricocheting off of object and that the object in the ski remained stationary for almost 13 minutes while spots lights and anti aircraft artillery shells lit that thing up it was visible to hundreds of people watching the event. Some even say they saw the shells explode on impact of object but yet implied that the reason no damage occurred was do to this craft having a force field that was only visible upon impact of anti aircraft shell.

During the Korean War, the 25th Infantry Div. was reportedly beset by a presumed extraterrestrial craft that the soldiers were given permission to fire upon. The pulsing craft then retaliated by emitting some form of a "ray attack" that left soldiers in the 27th Regiment with strange burn type injuries. Even those not subjected to the direct fire from the anomaly became very ill from a condition that some military physicians reported as "similar to radiation poisoning". There were many theories posited in the subsequent years attempting to logically explain the craft's origins, ranging from battle fatigue to advanced Soviet weaponry, but no single hypothesis has ever been able to check off all of the boxes required to call the incident "debunked".

The so-called "battle of Los Angeles" was a focal point in Spielberg's, "1941." The air "attack" in 1942 over LA was laughable then and, in the movie, "1941." Thanks, Nutty History.

  • @VikingVic76
    @VikingVic76 Жыл бұрын

I find it hard to believe in the battle for Los Angeles that so many anti-aircraft gun operators knowing the consequences of firing over residential areas shot in the air at nothing. It is known that residents of Los Angeles lost their lives due to falling anti-aircraft rounds, but not all the rounds came down to the ground so where did they go? Some eyewitnesses says that the object was able to absorb a certain amount of it. That would explain why more people didn't die from thousands of rounds being shot up in the air that's supposedly nothing. It doesn't add up!

Another theory about pilots seeing flying objects. Was light bouncing off the plane's body, which could account for the objects following the planes. And, when the objects disappeared, the planes went under clouds, blocking the flying objects. There is the shared hysteria effect. A squadron could be so close to each other that they would actually empathize with the other pilot who saw and swear that they could see it also.

The Foo Fighters of WW2: Actually, the Allies (don't know about the Axis) did not take the Foo fighters report seriously which is why Donald Meiers called them foo fighters. After several debriefing where his reports were met with skepticism and disbeliefs, Meiers became frustrated. When one of the people debriefing him ask, "What do you think that are?" He sarcastically said they were foo fighters: meaning they must be imaginary things because no one believed him. The Battle of Teutoburg Forest: in Rome, upon hearing of what had happened in the Teutoburg Forest, Emperor Augustus stood in his palace, butted his head against the wall, and proclaimed, “Quinctili Vare, legiones redde!” - “Quinctilius Varus, give me back my legions!”

I've seen something similar in a movie or docu drama. WW1 and Hitler is near front lines and ends up in No Mans Land accidentally The Germans have confused orders and moved the wrong way. The British are advancing. The story goes he could have been shot but the British soldier decided against firing on a fellow soldier in such a defenceless and vague state who was no threat. Whether that's from Hitler s recollections who knows.I'm sure it happened all the time especially toward the end of wars. .@@Kneon_Knight

Exactly 13? What's the Kiwi/Aussie split? I've never considered my family as Antipodean Ancestors. Why? because they were 'transplants'. I'm the only 'native' born. I thought ancestors came from the land of their people not where they were born. I'm Pakeha and left NZ aged 3 months. Technically I'm not indigenous but I am aren't I? But some would argue my people come from Hobart and Devon. Or the UK. But that's totally foreign to me. However, my ancestors are Gaelic and Celtic, I must be on a cancel list somewhere as I don't feel entitled to claim any land or country is my land and country.

A useless piece of information for any nutty historians out there….. A few years back I spent 16 years working as a domestic help for the family that bought the home in Walberton, West Sussex where author Rosemary Sutcliff spent her final years confined to a wheelchair before she died in July 1992. The family purchased the home soon after she died. Rosemary is regularly seen, heard around her home, and still is. I have witnessed her spirit many times. My daughter as a toddler would often state she was playing with her friend Rosie, and Rosie loved to read books with her. You’d often hear her wheelchair running across the parquet flooring. I got quite used to Rosemary’s company when working there alone. The room which had been her bedroom was always affectionately known as Rosemary’s Room.💞🇬🇧

How would pilots encountering foo fighters describe hearing a humming sound coming from them over the roar of a prop powered fighter plane?!?! The humming sound must have been quite loud for pilots to hear, unless they were observed from the ground in which case the foo fighters would have to be flying very low!!?? Not doubting the pilot's senses , they are trained to be good observers and information collection is paramount to gain an upper edge over the enemy. So basically if a service man saw ,heard, experienced something strange then gauranteed that they are telling the truth!!

Pilots in WWII didn't "mistake" a duck flying over water, FLIR of another jet and a goat that ran off screen. EDIT: Lay a map of all orang pandek sightings on top of a map of orangutan habitats. Mystery solved.

The Lost Battalion is easily explained by the poor paperwork & head-counts during and after the battle. The P-40 is an urban legend, possibly a misunderstanding or misrepresentation between the novel and maybe the Fog of War? The Battle of Los Angeles was a city full of paranoia, worried about where the Japanese would strike next, just waiting for a few itchy trigger-fingers to get the party started. The Foo Fighters (could you make your comments a bit more lame;? I feel cheated): again, that pesky Fog of War, the strain on every combatant, lack of adequate supplies & food* and with each step forward, will this be the last breath they take? *Apparently the very first war the US forces actually gained weight was in Desert Shield/Storm. Prior to that, and going waaay back, every soldier on either side were constantly near starvation! num num num!

Foo fighters were actually named for the French word "feu" which means fire because of the objects glowing appearance. Also in the battle of los Angeles no mention is made of the famous newspaper picture which clearly shows a large object in the sky lit by the exploding shells. Everything is mentioned except this. Im 10 minutes into this video and im shaking my head at it already
