In my opinion, he has no sister. He either murdered her or never had one. He gets his kicks out of building a connection with his victims, terrorizing them, then killing them. Who better to start with than your own family. He's probably been chasing that ecstasy since those initial killings. The "sister" phone call is all a part of the game, almost as if he's salting the meat like Pennywise. Basically it's tantric murder.

What is extremely unsettling is the fact that the film felt "too normal." This could very well be a real situation where a person gets involved with a neurotic, unhinged serial killer. The lack of whizz-bang special effects immerses the viewer into a situation that they really do not want to be in. The director is insanely talented 👏

@riverhenriques8855 Wow - the fact that parts of the film were improvised. That certainly added a new dimension of character to the cinematics and plot of the film. I haven't watched the second film yet, but it looks even creepier. Especially the part in the trailer where he is running and screaming at the woman with the knife, all with a "strobe light" effect.

Imagine having such a collection and knowing you'll never be interested in going back to relive those memories. So many victims and Aaron will just be another dvd on a shelf to never be revisited. I prefer Dexter, at least he picked up his blood slides and looked at them every now and then.

I think that Aaron was just as lonely as Josef and that could explain why he kept ignoring the red flags and feeling sorry for Josef. It’s not only a question of being stupid. I mean why didnt he bring a friend with him to the lake or talk to a friend about his stalker? Aaron has no friends and Josef could sense that and knew exactly how to manipulate him. He studied him before he introduced himself to him.
