YOU MISSED SOMETHING BIG. When the frogger, and father were fighting, the father told him that he would get in trouble for killing a cop because he didn't know who the kid was yet. He was standing in the dark. Then the kid moved into the light, and the Dad recognized him, and he knew that the kid would get away with killing him since he was the murderer. That's when he changed his tactic, and starts explaining about why he did this, hoping for sympathy. Obviously, it didn't work. That's why when the other cop comes in, and the kid calls him by name, the cop looks at him, and instantly knows who he is.

Actually, I really love this. Not only does it reveal there IS no supernatural element but that the real villain is the one we thought was the hero. Meanwhile Alec himself is also no angel so even during the slow burn reveal we’re still thinking that he’s going to be the villain. I don’t know, to me, this is one of the best twists I’ve seen in a long time.

Yeah I don't know what Flix problem with it was. It's like his only complaint is that the first part doesn't serve a purpose to the larger story but it totally does, making it so everyone (or anything) could be doing this only to reveal it was none of them. I don't know, it just seems like for someone who reviews horror movies for a living he seems to have a really hard time understanding what a red herring is. He sounds disappointed that it wasn't supernatural and was instead a home invasion and I would understand if that just wasn't his thing but he's covered plenty of movies where things turned out not to be supernatural and didn't give them shit. It's just a really weird vibe in this review.

It’s was garbage. Some of the events in the movie are totally supernatural then they just say, actually, no it’s not haha got you. It’s makes no sense. However, this is my opinion and I respect your opinion on liking the movie. We’re not always going to agree on the same things, that’s just life. Art is subjective. Saying he doesn’t know what a red herring is though is just plain stupid haha! He doesn’t like the movie and he gave his opinion as to why. He probably likes movies you don’t like. Again, it’s subjective.

Even if he were capable of speaking, there is a great chance that Greg could use his power in the police force to immediately silence him. If you look closely in the scene, Greg isn't even slightly nervous. He looks weirdly calm, even not considering the context. This is probably (assuming the screenwriters and actors thought this well into it and it wasn't just a convenient coincidence) because he knows that Tommy is completely voiceless in the matter, and it makes Greg feel powerful.

For me I found the opposite. I actually REALLY liked how it WASNT supernatural, and enjoyed the second half a lot better than the first. The supernatural thing is so overdone, and is just super easy to do. This is because you can do literally anything and you can just call it supernatural. this is a sad movie when you think about it. also when alec put greg in closet he wanted greg to feel how he felt when he locked him up 15 years prior. then alec took a whiz on greg.. greg did the same thing to him 15 years ago. like i got goosebumps when i realized alec wasnt actually the bad one. the closet, and the peeing.. omg that is so sad. whats messed up is in reality the systems are behind the trafficking of children in real life. this movie has a hunt of truth to it.

I liked this movie. It's cleverly written and screenplay is awesome. It puts the audience in dilemma as who the real villain is. First u sympathise with the family thinking something bad is gonna happen to them, then you feel more squirmish to see the Phrogger guy playinh with them, think they're the dickheads then in one snap Lo behold!! The whole perspective changes! Now you think okay the phroggers are not that bad and that they are the victims now and in the end you realise as why the phrogger guy did what he did. And it all makes sense! Whoa!

After watching it and several days of pondering I'm going to pose the theory that the guy stopped murdering kids because of his wife, but it was just after his wife cheated that the murders started again, meaning that she was his stability and since the incident he reverted back to his old ways. So the first part wasn't entirely a waste, they just missed some important dialogue along the way

Man, you and I had completely different takes on this movie. I loved it, and wasn't bothered by the lack of a supernatural element. The purpose of the first half and all those misdirects is, to me, to wrap the viewer in the chaos and confusion as much as the characters. Essentially the phroggers (mainly Alec) are gaslighting them, and that carries over to the audience as well. So when we start learning what's actually going on, we're disarmed a bit, but also put even further on our guard because of how close they were this whole time. Couple that with slowly learning that Alec is unhinged, meaning not only the family but possibly Mindy as well, are in danger, and you get a unique kind of building suspense that I really appreciate. I agree that the metal cable reveal doesn't work, but that was my one major gripe with the movie.

I really loved the change of perspective within this movie. It was a change of pace from all of the mediocre supernatural films I had seen, and it became a shared category of corrupt human nature. It reminds me of a lecture I had attended about "The Dangers of a Single Story". Most of the time we only ever hear one-sided depictions - or rather one story - as a whole, when there are so many more out there that have the ability to contrast and build upon previous concepts. I respect the effort within this film to broaden the perceptions of a single-family and their troubles into a much bigger picture.

Going out on a limb here, when the father gets pissed on and doesn't seem all too shocked the next morning it can safely be assumed that he has pissed himself before. It was long believed that serial killers are notoriously known for being bed wetters.Regardless of the statistical reliability of this characteristic of serial killers it has been noted as an observable pattern amongst some serial killers. If this is the case in the film, which i think it is, it's a great nod to serial killer theory.

I thought this movie slapped. The first part does matter. I can imagine that kidnapping and murdering children would create some distance in that relationship. That woman got needs! I loved all of the 180s. Thinking the kid had a right to be upset about it to him being an idiot and not knowing the full story. And thinking that the kid that got away was a full blown psycho but then realizing there was a method to his madness as well. I thought it was all cool. The Yoshi Pez dispenser was a nice touch. Never even picked up on that until the end.
