John Fogerty once said that during the whole CCR period, he had never been to the Mississippi Delta, and had only been to New Orleans to play gigs, ie. land at the airport, drive to the hotel, rest, drive to the gig, play the gig, drive back to the hotel, sleep, drive to the airport to catch the plane to the next gig. He didn't actually explore the region for himself until decades later.

This song was one of the single releases from the "Cosmo's Factory" album, and led to that album being the very first LP I ever bought, shortly after receiving a record player for Christmas from my parents. By the time "Pendulum" (their next album) came out, I had all but the first two CCR albums in the beginning of my vinyl collection. CCR was the first band I ever collected and still a favorite. The fiasco of the "Mardi Gras" was a sad day, it's too bad egos had to get in the way and destroy an excellent band. I think history has made it rather obvious where the song writing talent in the band truly was.

I'd love for Brad and Lex to react to one of CCR's more deeply philosophical songs, like "Someday Never Comes", "It's Just a Thought", and "Wrote a Song for Everyone". I love all their light-hearted, joyful, exuberance, but their deeper songs are just as good and hit in a different way. Please request and vote for these songs during live broadcasts so Brad and Lex can hear and react to them.

I grew up in a town so small it wasn’t even on the map. BUT, we had a skating rink down the street! When I was 6 or 7 years old, I couldn’t wait to skate to this. It was my favorite song to skate to!

It's true! It's something that sounds so good, vocals, guitar, all of it together just makes you feel good even if he's singing about bad things happening.

I remember this was one of the songs chosen for contestants to dance to for a dance contest on American Bandstand. You can still see the video of that contest and this song right here on KZread

Back in the late 60’s. This is the song I knew most by CCR by. It was later in Vietnam war movies that their other songs really came to the forefront.

John Fogferty still has it to this day! CCR my jam since the first time i heard them. I'm a 70s teen, old hippie chick. I haven't seen his writing skills diminish nor his vocals. He's amazing.

This was the last of a string of some 10 Top 20 hits from 1968 to 1970...a prolific output for that little band from Northern Cal.

I'm the same. There's a lot of bands I got tired of hearing so much growing up but this is not one of them. And as I get older I see even more musical complexity within the simple containers of their songs and I really appreciate the message of their songs even more. There aren't very many love songs in there. Most bands are about 95% love songs in 5% something else they are the opposite. They make it interesting. I've covered some of their bands live in bands that I've played in. But I beg and implore you guys to check out anyone or all three of these songs that I never see anyone react to and yet they were still hits for Creedence and they are fantastic songs. You will see a side of John Fogerty's voice and the band like you've never seen before. Wish I could hide away, long as I can see the light, it came out of the sky. And of course so many more.

Back when I got my license it wasn't long before I had a totally hopped up black 69 Nova SS with the loudest sound system I could put in. CCR & Badfinger was always blaring from that car. Good memories!

My older brother loved CCR in their hey day. He used to torture us other 5 of our parents kids with his CCR and other records(little wax discs which played music when they revolved) . Like all big brothers, he was a pain in the "£$!*, and we didn't get on. We're all in our 60's now, and I've listened to CCR of my own choice, and actually have a few of their songs in my guitar playing list when I practice. My older brother and I have learned to tolerate each other as well.🤣

I grew up hearing my older brother playing these guys on his 8-track tape player until the tapes wore out. I can still hear dad asking/telling him to turn it down. Then he got a tape deck (as they were called) in his '70 Ford Maverick and all bets were off.
