Creative ART Play - For GROWNUPS
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Today we're going to do some simple flowers in vases and we're going to focus on the shapes of the vase and the flowers then add a little shadow, a tablecloth and a background.
We’ll be thinking about color, pattern and shape, and mediums like watercolors, colored pencils, markers and pens. This is a fun [practice that creates a great opportunity for you to just play and experiment. And when you do that, you figure out what works for you and what doesn't.
So let's grow together! Grab whatever supplies you have. We're going to make pretty stuff because that's what we always do!

Shayda, I have been watching your videos for years and I love how you have evolved to be more vulnerable. I feel like we can see more of your true fun personality. I have always loved the more serene scripted style but this free style is even better. I feel like I am really getting to know you and you seem more confident. Your art is beautiful as always. Thank you.

@acharli77 thanks so much! I'm really pushing myself to 'put myself out there' so I really appreciate the positive feedback.
You have no idea how helpful this was for me - both therapeutically and artistically. I loved watching the entire spontaneous process -layering and detailing without overthinking, without fear and having so much fun! If this isn't creative, I don't know what else is:) So, thank you,Shayda♥️

Love the free style of these cards. Feels right to me. I always loved art but was too busy raising a family and working to actually do anything. Now I'm retired and exploring all mediums and feeling the fulfillment of the process. Thank you for the inspiration!
👏🏻 Art therapy for adults 💕🙏🏼
YES, I AGREE WITH YOU. ART HELPS ONE TO RELAX AND UNWIND, ESPECIALLY IF YOU LOVE ART, I ENJOY MAKING ART EVERYDAY. EVEN IF JUST DOODLING AWAY. PETS ALSO GIVE ME A GREAT SATISFACTION IN MY LIFE CATS OR DOGS ARE A GREAT COMPANY. SEE YOU IN THE NEXT VIDEO.
I wanted to work on a watercolor sketch I had the other night. But when I opened my watercolors (same as yours) I had not yet removed the color names and done the paint swatches. I went to art school and worked in the field for 10 years and then I started to get into accounting. So I returned to school and worked for 30 years as an accountant. But now I want to watercolor again!! Now that I have endless time on my hands as a senior citizen.

Sometimes it is easier to enjoy art when it isn't for work :)
I LIKE THE WAY YOU ORGANIZE YOURSELF WITH A FEW ESSENTIAL ART MATERIALS, AND THE WAY YOU PAINT FLOWERS THEY ALWAYS TURN OUT IN A NATURAL LOOK. BYE MARIA HERE WE HAVE A LOT OF SUNSHINE ALTHOUGH WE ARE IN WINTER
I remember watching hand lettering videos when you were in Iceland Loved the chat my daughter is graduating and so burnt out on school so I appreciated hearing this today 😊
❤ Thank you for keeping things real Shayda. I so appreciate you sharing a bit of your personal life and your artistic skill. ❤
I loved hearing your story. I feel like I know you so much more now. It's hard to believe you didn't go to art school because you are so talented.
Whether anyone sees these little guys as just the right amount of detail or "too much" detail, they are fabulous. Love them!
I watched that video. I had no idea I have watched you for nine years. I enjoy all the different videos.

you always make me feel so much more relaxed with my art. There is a time and space for perfection and really trying to make something great (for my business or commission or portfolio), but I need to make more space for fun! Thank you for providing the time and language to speak to myself while I'm following your example and having fun! :)
They are a really cute set! By the way, I really like this split screen style of video, it’s good to see what your hands are doing, but nice to see your face too, especially in those pauses when you’re thinking or when you’re just talking and “making eye contact” with us.
Shayda, you are just a joy. 🌸 Thank you for sharing playtime. And storytime. 😊
Such a great and helpful video! 👩🎨
I love your style and your progression over the years. I've always been creative but with zero training. When I had extra time during the pandemic, YOU, Shayda Campbell, taught me watercolor technique and I built my confidence and skills. Thank you! I love hearing your story and seeing what you come up with next. It's a good lesson to keep growing, stay uncomfortable, be messy and try to enjoy the ride! I love the gauche backgrounds so much!

Aw thank you!
This was so fun Shayda! I loved hearing a bit of your story too.
I love your style. It always comes through, even when you’re "playing." Thank you for this. Just by doing these four precious studies you’ve given us good ideas as to how to use each one of these mediums.

Awesome! Thank you!
Th❤ank you! I have always wanted to spend time with you, and "chat" with you, and this tutorial was perfect! I learned to have fun with art and just try.
I watched some of your earliest handlettering videos when you first started on KZread. I was interested in learning lettering at the time and then moved with you to illustration. I’ve watched your journey with so much excitement as a fellow Canadian and am thrilled with your success.

Very pretty and quick! ❤
Great to learn how to use gouache - I have some but never use it. I love your simple but effective use of a few brush strokes. So relaxing to watch and listen to your lovely voice. Not all you-tubers have a such a mellifluous voice! As I have said before - I love that there is no background music. I hope you continue with this format. Thanks. x

😍💐Those flowers, vases and tables are so charming! Loved these playful paintings, Shayda! I will definitely paint along, and it will be a wonderful practice, because I'm a terrible overdoer! 😅 Your conversation about your life and art was lovely too! 😊 How lucky you came back to art! I think I wouldn't be painting today if it weren't for your fun, not scary approach! I think, as adults, many of us loose the confidence we had as children when it comes to drawing and painting. I had the creative drive, but had become such a perfectionist that was even afraid to use my new supplies, in case I messed up, like 'poor supplies, being used by a messy beginner!' 😧 😅 You changed this, and I thank you so much for it! 🤗 Oh, and I'm enjoying these videos immensely! 🙏👏👏👏🥰😃👍

Oh man, OAC. Yeah I was in one of the last years before they got rid of it. It was a hard year, and I know quite a few people who took a break after that.
I love your process!! This is just the type of activity I need to be loose and have fun!
These are so relaxing & inspiring!! I love the way these turned out, Shayda!🥰💕🌸

Hello! At my local art store, gouche is labeled as "acrylic gouche". Should I be looking for a water soluble gouche or are they the same thing?
@ShaydaCampbell
4 ай бұрын
They are different, I'm using a traditional gouache here which is water-based instead of acrylic based. I prefer using these when I'm mixing with watercolors. With the acrylic one you can, but don't need to add water, so it is more like painting with acrylics.
Do you still have your shop?

😐Very interesting video, but it's a shame that subtitles aren't available, because when you're hard of hearing and don't speak English, it's hard to follow the explanations.
