Creating Barbie's snatched waist: a corset and romantic tutu | Barbie of Swan Lake Cosplay Part 1

It's finally happened! My silly obsessions are letting me live out my childhood dreams, namely becoming Odette from 2003's Barbie of Swan Lake.
This project is my entry into @ComicConAfricaOfficial 2022's Masters of Cosplay competiton wherein I will go full ballerina as Odette in the film. But before I can get to the actual costume, I'm going to need the right undergarments in order to get that quintessential doll look.
The corset pattern is from Aranea Black and I followed a tutorial by Lee-am for the romantic tutu. I'll be endevaouring to use as many real-life ballet and theatrical costuming techiques for this cosplay which hopefully will the glitteriest, sparkliest most Barbiecore thing anyone has ever seen.

I've never watched a Barbie movie because I'm an older person. I did play with and own many Barbies as a child. Barbie inspired me to get a degree in fashion! I love your princessy-ballet look. You look gorgeous. Can't wait to see the finished look!!

This and the nutcracker were my all time favorites! I watched them till the dvds were all scratched up😅 I can’t wait to see the final look. Watching this was really interesting and relaxing. It made me want to get sewing too.
I was so excited to see that you had uploaded! I think the corset has glittery feathers, but they honestly look like they could be leaves too lol.
