This is a demonstration of how to make quick and highly effective collage paper using a gelli plate. In this video, I use stencils (from @pmartiststudio), produce packaging, and yarn to make graphic designs on tissue paper, which I will use in mixed media art in future videos. Using your own collage papers infuses your art with more YOU!
What are your favorite materials to use with your gelli plate?
Comments, questions, and shares are always welcome and appreciated - Thank you for watching!

Thank you for sharing our designs these are actually by Paulla Keen and Susan DuFresne ❤ looking forward to part 2. A plate that has bubbles and even pitting can be brought back. As some suggested use the tape to clear off any bits that are stubborn, then really saturate your plate both side with the mineral oil, store with paper on both sides and flat. Eventually the bubbles will work out. A clean plate is a preference but it will hold up longer and gives more detailed prints if that is a goal ❤ hugs P&M

A clean gelli plate?! Never!! 😂 I work hard to get that patina of layers that only comes through putting it through its paces. Kind of like watching everyone in England scrub their bricks and pavers clean while I am trying to grow that thick layer of moss and some ferns in mine. To each their very own, eh? 😊

Thanks as always for the great video. I find that a lot of my favorite prints come from putting a color on top of the ghost print and doing a pull. I usually get really nice pieces. I also love clearing my brayer on a piece of paper and using it later. Sometimes I do 2 or 3 colors on the same paper and then do a collage with them.

Hi Pam! I’m not sure of the “proper” way to store it, but what I’m doing now is storing it with paper covering both sides of the plate and then the whole thing inside the clamshell case that it came in originally. I’ve removed the plastic-acetate sheets that it was originally packaged with since the air bubbles left some marks on my plate (those marks have since come off). So it’s still protected by the hard-ish case so it won’t get indentations from storage but the plate is surrounded by paper to keep it in tip-top condition 🤗
