CREATE performance MACROS on your DIGITAKT - is this the final Octatrack killer?
In this video I explain my method to create macros on the Elektron Digitakt through the midi loopback that can control up to 7 parameters at once. Later in the video I also demonstrate how I use this technique to control external gear as well.

This is an excellent hack. I had no idea you could set the audio tracks to their own midi channel.
Very nice work, thanks for sharing!
Never thought of this, increadable!
Macros! Next level stuff Alber. Thank you for sharing the knowledge my friend.
Brilliant idea!!!
Cool very inspiring, thanks for sharing! 🙏🏼✨😃
Every Digitakt video ever made: unrecognizable accent
This is very exciting, will try it when I get a chance! I applaud any attempts to squeeze more out of a device -- it's a great way to fight against GAS. One question: have you tried using this technique with song mode? i.e. muting / un-muting midi tracks on a repeated single pattern to automate the macro changes?

It is possible to automate these macros but not sure you can do it on song mode through muting. When you send midi lfo to a midi track, the lfo keeps modulating even when you mute the track. If you sequence a song on many patterns you should be able to pull it tho! Thanks :)

Always living on the edge :D
Hey could you tell me how you set up a high pass and a low pass filter in the macros for digitakt? I thought if I put cc 76 for filter type on midi channel G for encoders 1 (set to low pass at value 1) and 2 (set to high pass at value 2) and then set cc 74 filter frequency on midi H macro channel for encoders 1 and 2 that it would control a low pass / high pass filter but it doesn’t do anything for some reason 🤔

It might be because the low pass opens to the right, while high pass opens to the left. You might want to assign CC tothe filter range (2nd page of the filter menu) and see if that changes anything.
Hope this isnt so late, but how did you change the knobs to control a parameter? Or even multiple parameters as you say?

just been racking my brains on this! turns out each parameter has a set cc value to control it. I.e Filter frequency is cc 74. If you go on to amp page on the midi track and set each control to the value you desire it will then correspond with the value knobs on the filter page. Hope this makes sense! (All the values are listed starting on page 88 in the manual) :)
So how did it go on a live set? I tried the loopback a couple of times and it just freezes usually.

I am yet to implement it on a full liveset - I am working on that though, more on it soon!
