And this is why many times I end up using GIMP as a graphic design software. Its capabilities as such are huge. They should just release a paid version of it fusioned with Inkscape.

Just download Inkscape and use it with Gimp. Why ruin two free pieces of software by attaching a price

Wow. I did not really expect to learn anything new during this tutorial but yet again I was wrong. The alt key on text is very welcome since the deselection of text to use the move tool is pretty annoying.

Very clean poster & well-presented instruction too! And thanks for trying my font Yeager (I'm its designer) and including a link - I always love seeing the different uses other designers find for it!

Good tutorial but I was never able to download the font. This site was very hard to understand and even thought I was able to login to my account I never found a way to download. Leave it to Adobe to be so complicated and useless. Thanks Michael for the tutorial which built wonderfully with another font.

I failed to scale the model. It starting to scale the whole image.

hum, for the text outline, you can stroke the selection directly without converting it to a path.

(and likewise for the circle, there's a lot you can do directly with selections in the Edit menu)

As I understand it, GIMP and Photoshop are fairly similar; you should be able to do almost anything in GIMP that you would in Photoshop. For more information, you can check out some of the "GIMP vs. Photoshop" comparison videos on KZread.
