Interesting thing you mention at 3:48 and I met a guy from a fishery once in Pennsylvania and he told me something and I bet you'll find this interesting. He told me this story about a hatchery once that was an "outside pond" and they were trying to ONLY have Trout hatchlings outside in this pond so they could acclimate to the outdoor type of weather instead of living inside with florescent lights. They put all these Trout hatchlings in the pond and after some time, they drained the pond to see how the Trout did. When they were going thru the hatchlings, there were other fish with the Trout. They figured someone screwed up so they did it again. They drain the pond again, and the exact same thing happens, other fish fry are in with the Trout. So they think someone is sabotaging the whole thing so they did the same thing but put a fence around the place and put up cameras to watch and record anything (excuse the pun) fishy going on! So they drain the pond again and wouldn't you know it, other fish fry are in with the Trout! So they go over the camera footage and they notice something. The ONLY thing other than the guys who feed the fish on the inside of the fence, are "Ducks"! So they realize that when fish deposit their eggs when spawning, ducks walk thru them, the fish eggs stick to their feathers and when they take off and leave that lake and land in another body of water, they are unknowingly stocking ponds! Makes you understand how fragile the ecosystem is! Awesome video!

Couple of those bass had mouths large enough to be on bigger bass. Perhaps lack of good forage might be contributing. That one had a 6lb mouth on his/her face! Huge! What a great video!!

I live on a lake in Florida (4K acre) all the old timers that fish every year and catch hundreds a year to freeze and eat have died off or gotten too old to fish so these last 2 or 3 years NOBODY has fished this lake, like seriously your lucky to see one boat on it outside of summer largemouth tournaments , I’m gearing up to hit it soon and stock my freezer I finally ran out of the fish I froze from 2016

I know. And he catches them in a mud puddle on the side of the road. The only thing I would catch there is a sore shoulder from casting and getting nothing. Fishing can be strange though. My best bass this year was caught on a Bobby Garland crappie lure tied to a medium light rod. I think so much of the "you need" this or that bass gear/lure is pure hype.

Fishing holiday in Ireland, travelling around, came across a lovely large pond. Got the gear out, settled down, after an hour or so and no bites a local was strolling by, he stopped and asked "Caught anything?" "No", I said, "Is there much in this pond?" "Dunno", he said "It wasn't there yesterday".

Sorry Buddy, we are not all perfect. Sometimes they swallow the hook, i had a epic small mouth kayak day in a lake. And i had my 1st unsuccessful catch and relases of the year, it happens...but i don't eat them and I had to let them go, they are now feeding other fish. But, I laugh....folks are so critical, even with catch and release folks. Sorry, the South Americans pretending they don't know the rules, filling there buckets with EVERYTHING they catch, that is a problem. Catch and release guys losing a few fish a year aint so bad.

Nice fishing! Three species cool! There is plenty of food in that little pond. Some say that the best way to manage a pond like that is to cull some of the fish like the ones you caught. That way they ones you don’t catch get bigger with less competition for food. I have three small ponds half that size. When I catch the small ones I eat them or move them to my 5 acre pond. I have caught 5 lb large mouth in all three little ponds, and my big pond will someday have 10 lbs + in it.

I fished ponds like that in fl. I would check the edges and if there was lots of bait and other minnows I would often move on, cause theres not bigger fish feeding. Those 2 bass were really thin. Catchem up.

Thats so bad ass. I actually caught a 6lber today out of a pond about the same size in chino hills. He ran into a tunnel and i thought he was gonna break me off. As i muscled him out he spooked a 2 and probably 3-4lber out of the tunnel. Sometimes the smallest bodies of water hold the biggest surprises. Id try tossing your hellgramite into that tube there if its holding water lol

I noticed you were standing by a culvert or something. I live in Minnesota and the fish do migrate from the bigger Lakes to the smaller ponds through the culverts. Especially in the spring when the ice is out in the water is high.

Take it from a guy who raises all sorts of fish, they are really good at eating about anything and living a long time with little food. Fun video!

That pond is getting water from other ponds, dams, rivers, swamps, whatever, that carry more water...., and fish. Good fishing, BTW.
