John Meadows is an American professional bodybuilder and entrepreneur with an intriguing story. While John now boasts a successful career as an IFBB Pro bodybuilder and fitness company owner, his journey towards the top was extremely difficult.
Growing up, John never met his father, and his mother died at an extremely young age. This meant John only had his grandmother to take care of him. When his grandmother tragically passed away in 1999, John was left alone without his family to support him.
As the years went by, John continued to face new adversities in his life. During his early days in bodybuilding, John suffered from a rare colon disease. After fighting the disease for several months, his colon burst - almost resulting in his death. Luckily, John was quickly rushed to an emergency room where his life was saved. After several months of recovery, John was finally back on his feet.
Coming back into bodybuilding, John used the very obstacles that almost cost him his life as ‘fuel’ to grow stronger. Ever since he recovered from the colon surgery, John has gone on to become a successful bodybuilder, entrepreneur, and inspiration for many people all over the world.

@@rossbrown6029 Dude, really? You don't need to lock out to get an excellent contraction. Especially doing exercises like squats or presses. Locking out on presses is how you fold your knee the wrong way.

After having avoided working legs, because of injury, for about a year and a half, I threw some hex bar deadlifts into my back routine. It shredded the hell outta my quads, hamstrings and glutes. Without aggravating my knee.

miss you john… did a „old school leg workout“ by you today: Starting with ham curls, then good and deep squats, leg press and finished off with some romanian deadlifts and lying hamcurls. Thank you a lot, I keep on growing. Rest in peace big dog ❤️

John, I need your help! I'm 49 years old. Use to play lacrosse and use to have well defined legs (quads &HAMS) I have had two acl repairs. Started working out seriously and seeing gains. But I'm trying to bring up my legs. HOWEVER, Im regulated to leg press for quads and leg curls for hamstrings. Can you give me some advice? BTW, I'm 6'5" 225lbs. Old dog looking for a solid new foundation.

Also you need to make sure you have full range of motion although it will be slightly shorter than before you injured in my experience although mines starting to get more rom im at about 9 months now can deadlift 315 squay 225 but knee aches after a little i keep it light higher rep ranges

Just do as many compound to isolation as yo u can full range of motion 6-8 reps compound move it up 10-12 isolation full rom something like Box squat 4x8 Leg press 3x10 Lunges 3x10-15 Hamstring curl 3x10-12 (Once you can) Till then Chair squats sets of 10 Starighten leg squeeze quad sets of 15-20 trying to really feel the quad Work your way into a normal squat wothout chair over time Light swimming is amazing No weight lunges Step ups Hopping or balancing on on foot Do this stuff ariujd the house if you can without pain Need to strenghten quads and muscle around the acl and begin to teach the rwpaired tendon to work properly woth higher rep ranges

Is the 20 second rest a super strict number? When I do my heavy set for bench , I try to hit a specific number of reps. If I feel like I’m going to failure, I’ll re-rack, rest 30 seconds, and finish off my reps ( and try to throw 1 or 2 extra in). I’m trying to change how I train, and I was just curious if it’s a strict test, or if there is a bit a freedom in it?
