I adore my Boz plugins. Several of em have been irreplaceable over the last few years. This is an amazing toms gate and I initially got it bc it’s th simplest way to not kill the sustain of your toms when gating, but rather to lessen cymbal bleed. But thiiiiiiiis sounds like industrial MADNESS and I love it. About to start work on a project and I might use this trick right here!
its almost like a multi stage filter like the one from Fabfilter. pretty cool. Dude can you please show us how you recorded the drums for this. They sound unbelievably good. Like the best drums you've ever done. That is if its not from a plug in ha cuz I can't tell

Definitely can get some cool sounds out of that, I've almost purchased it a few times, but never did. Might have to pick that one up now. You could automate some of those cool effects for a break in a song or an intro. Definitely cool.
Be interesting to run it twice in parallel with an fx chain for each. One just doing above threshold, one doing below.

Huh. I had never even considered lo-fi-ing and boosting the closed gate thing. It turns it into a cool sounding delay like thingy. Definitely going to mess with this more.
In principle it's a filter gate effect at its most elementary level.
