Thurman beats Crawford - he's all wrong for Bud, and Bud knows it.

He kinda treats boxing like mathematics. Dude has the answer to literally every problem that his opponents may throw at him.

Crawford’s footwork is on the highest levels as well. Pivots in and out, lateral switches, step backs, L steps, shuffled into either stance,...He’s also another fighter with amazing hand eye coordination/accuracy and uses deceptive distancing. Great video

Switches stance seamlessly power on both hands and adapts to every situation. Not to mention his stamina. His chin and his rolling with the punches are top tier and he isn’t scared of moving up in weight classes easily top 3 of his era.

@Caneloc Johnson Garcia even admitted Erroll was the strongest out of the three guys he lost to. I forget which round but Garcia caught Errol flush and Erroll ate the punch and kept coming forward like Terminator. I never seen Crawford keep coming foward after taking a good blow.

@@bullydakidd2023 Both, TH who started his career at 147lbs will naturally be the bigger fighter than Crawford who started his career at 135lbs, along with having a bigger frame 4in taller and longer reach will keep Crawford at bay and line him up occasionally for the hammer right cross, not too many fighters could take that shot. As much as I like Crawford...he would lose to Thomas Hearns.

@whoopie. Everything, you said is true. However, my basic point was about the level of opposition he's fighting. I blame Arum for not getting him the big fights. Pacquaio was @ Top Rank the same time he was and Bob axed that fight. Mikey Garcia was there dealing with contractual issues and Bob wouldn't make that. Loma was the king @135 at Top Rank while Bud was the king @ 140 & Bob axed that fight. The point was we haven't seen Bud Crawford against high level competition. Why won't he fight Jaron Ennis? Or Yourdenis Ugas, who beat him as an amateur. As for Errol Spence, be clear Spence fears noone. Look at who he's beating. Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Mikey Garcia, Lamont Pederson & Chris Algieri all of whom were multi-division world champions. Arum is the problem bro.

Terence Crawlford is one of my favourite boxers to study... I'm just an enthusiast, not a pro, so my readings maybe wrong but seems to me that he uses realy old tricks that many people forgot because it takes a special kind of lunacy to pull that off with gloves... Glad you guys tought of him.

Dmitry could have been GREAT if not for the career ending injury. He was an eastern European with a Michigan style of fighting (Toney, Mayweather, Cronk fighters as well etc..). Imho he would have beaten Golovkin before Canelo and we probably would have gotten a Pirog vs Canelo match-up. Would have been awesome man. Dude could SERIOUSLY box and had dynamite in those hands. He would have been a PROBLEM for Canelo.

@@seanrc8642 yes pirog was landing less according to compubox, but he was pressuring Danny like crazy, and his head movement, shifting , pivoting , switching and punching from crazy angles was a visual treat. It was clear from the beginning that it was Pirog who was running the show.

Sweet. It’s great to see this breakdown. Really though he is such a stupendous boxer and really strategic in getting through every opponent he faced

His craft, distance management, jab, and especially body shot counters are really reminiscent of Mike McCallum.

How amazing ! He's always one step ahead! Boxing has been and likely always will be the most intellectual of sports

Just shows how long it’s been since boxing has really captured my interest, I’ve just about heard of him. I watch more boxing on this channel than anywhere else these days, I still go back and watch your Lopez episode, a joy to behold.

These things are done instinctively even on a subconscious level. Hard to learn because everyone understands and applies the science different. Some of it is also just a competent boxer

I love this dude, he really needs to close his career out strong these next few years to cement his spot in the boxing history books. Hope he gets those big fights because I don’t think anyone can beat him on his best night

Excellent analysis. Crawford isn't as physically gifted as a prime Mayweather or Roy Jones, but he's the best technician I've seen since Mayweather, and akin to Salvador Sanchez and Carlos Monzon. Like Monzon, Crawford punches where the opponent is going to be, and doesn't give an opponent anywhere to hide or rest -- even if some punches are awkward, they're coming from every angle, so even bobbing, weaving, ducking and rolling don't work for long. As you noted, Crawford's only real weakness is leaving his head high and exposed while throwing high risk/reward counters, especially to the body. But Mayweather has gotten away with that for years. And Crawford has a good chin and, as you also noted, that instinctive ability to roll with punches, like Duran and Canelo.

Crawford's solid. I have him edging out Spence however he will need to get past that southpaw jab. Crawford usually turns southpaw to catch his orthodox opponents jab but against Spence he will need to stay in the conventional stance to so. Easier said that done because Spence is persistent and applies pressure for all 12 and Crawfords better fighting as a southpaw than a right hander.

I would bet my life on this ......If the 12th rd. Comes up in a Crawford vs. Spence match up...and Spence even remotely feels that he may be in Jeopardy of Losing....Crawford wont Survive the 12th rd.

I believe that Spence will grab rounds by keeping Crawford uncertain with the jab until bud finds that adjustment which I believe he will to grab the win. I'm backing Crawford but there's no way he will win all the rounds. That's what in trying to say basically.

I love him too he is a million times faster than Spence the turtle you never see Crawford in trouble Spence gets hit in the face too much thinking he's going to do something to Crawford Crawford is going to beat the holy muffin out of him.

Since Spence relies on leaving his jab out there so much and Crawford is so good at countering this would you say he has an advantage if they fight?

There is no clear-cut answer. It will be the main dynamic of the fight, Crawford's ability to take away Spence's lead hand activity, and Spence's ability to find his own answers to nullify these moves. The one who will have the lower-hand in that technical, tactical, mostly non-punching phase will have no choice but to either lose on points or rush in from unfavorable positions to try to brawl and be taken apart.

Would have liked to see Crawford and Mayweather fight in their primes.

@@chillbutton2986 actually...I know how good Crawford is BECAUSE i studied mayweather’s entire career. Crawford reminds me of Floyd...but Floyd has a lot of flaws that Crawford doesn’t. Plus Crawford is naturally bigger/stronger

I call his style 'Total Boxing'. It basically means that his style is like water and allows him to fight however he needs to best his opponent. He can do it all - switch hitting, counter punching, outside fighting, inside fighting. To top it off, he's got amazing power and timing. The only thing that I believe Crawford lacks is good head movement though he's not terrible at it. However, he does tend to leave himself open just to set up traps for his opponents.

Spence and crawford would be a great fight but I think crawford would win because of his timing.
