This is genius, Ann! I am constantly looking for storage for my stickers, envelopes, etc., but the price for these things is crazy high! Thank you for a video that shows me how to make the storage box, and I can use my papers. I love watching your videos, and always look forward to your next one! Thank you!!

I think you had a brilliant idea when you thought up the black corner thingies with eyelets! They really look sharp, and honestly something people are happy to spend lots of money on, just to have their craft space looking cool. You are one very smart and clever girl! I got out of order and watched your next installment before this one, but I loved that one just as much as this one! What great ideas you have! Thank you!

I make many of my own boxes. But, I do like this style. I usually use contact paper to cover mine. May I suggest using clips when trying to join the pieces together. That way you can put them out of the way. I love your videos. So many wonderful ideas. I make my boxes by cutting apart boxes. Yours are much nicer looking for sure. The eyelet's really added to the box. Much it look much more expensive.

Thank you for leaving your mistake in....it helps those of us who muck up a bit realize that EVERYBODY mucks up occasionally and that there is usually an easy fix to make things right as rain! My daughter just got married and moved out, so now I have a decent sized space for a studio, so I will definitely be making a few of these to store and to decorate. My art supplies seem to grow at an astounding rate some times!! God Bless!

Ann, I just found this video. What a gorgeous box. I can't wait to make a few. I was wondering, I live in Arizona, and it's very dusty out here. Could you possibly show us how to make it with a lid? Besides storing items in it, I want to use it to store daily tag projects. Thank you for this beautiful box, and how you covered your corners was BRILLIANT 💡☺️😍

I started this tonight. The only thing I did thus far, is cut all my stuff in prep for the morning. In prepping, I did do one thing differently with the decorative end caps for the outside. I cut (5x4) and scored mine as you did, at the 1, 2 & 3 but instead of folding them in half, after burnishing the scorelines, I folded the end flaps into the middle to meet the middle scoreline; and then I rounded off the corners, like you did. 🤣 Except my corner rounder makes tiny corners so I used my 1" punch and slipped the corner edges into it and snipped for a more rounded edge, like yours has. This gives both sides of the decorative end cap for the four corners of the outside of the box, finished edges on both sides of that decorative piece. I have an issue with unfinished edges and when I was getting ready to grab my Crop-a-Dile to do the eyelets, I realized that the open edge was bothering me. So, I tweaked it for my box. Also, I have the Crop-a-Dile Big Bite II so, I am considering putting the eyelets on, through the box. I'll decide that in the morning. FYI: You have great ideas and I'm really enjoying making a few of the things you've done. You rock, Ann!

Not to take A THING away from Ann on her creativity - she is G R E A T ! - but, many years ago, Hancock Fabrics, a now defunct American company, offered a flat folded cardboard box, VERY MUCH LIKE the BOXES USED to STORE OLD FINANCIAL RECORDS, that could be “popped up” and used to file dress patterns. LOVE THEM, and wish SOMEONE would make them again!!! They’re roughly 7.5” w. X 9.?” t. X 11.5” d. (Longest dimension WILL accommodate a manila folder, although the i.d. tab has to fold down for the lid to go on.). I’ve stored my stamps, dies, embossing folders, even larger stencils in these. The very best of luck with your projects!!

Fantastic box Ann, I will definitely be making a few of these. A great place to put all those bits and pieces that end up in a drawer or in like a shoe box lol. I have lots of embellishments to put in one, and many other things to put in the others I’ll be making, first thing I need to do is order some black card. Do you get the a4 like the white stuff, or is it a different weight? I think I’ll definitely be covering the bottom cause pulling it out and in it might start catching on the folded bits on the bottom, so best covering it. If you have any other storage boxes you can do, I’d love to see them. From my heart to yours xxx Ann xxx

If you click the link in the description box for the blog post, you'll see that she says she used cereal boxes glued together. You could probably use as many layers as you desire to get the thickness you want.

@@PositivelyPapercraft thank you and I will be sure to watch the video on Sunday. I don't have a craft room, I craft in my kitchen so I am trying to organize my stuff alittle as you can imagine I have things all over my house.

@@anntaylor7781 HI, ANN TAYLOR, I, too, craft in my kitchen. Luckily I have a pantry closet there wherein I have 2 “carts”, cobbled together from 2 cubes each, that were sold by Hobby Lobby. Sadly, when I went back to get one more cube, to rework part of my design, they had since discontinued selling them! I have since begun hatching a plan to make smaller boxes, much like Ann Melvin’s, but, with the help of Y.T. vids, mine will be faced with imitation “BOOK SPINES”. As our family room is “right there” near the kitchen, I plan to put a short bookcase at the back of the couch to store these. Since the only way you & I can craft is “in the open”, we just have to adapt to those conditions, huh? Good luck to you in your endeavors!!

Hi, new subscriber here and so glad I found you! Could I please just ask, what is the tool you are using to take up the double sided tape cover please? Also I have seen you use what I think is a metal scorer in other videos. If I am right where is it from. Please? Sorry for all the questions but you’ve inspired me 😀

Thanks for subbing! I use we are memory keeps score tools. One of them also has a pointy end to take off the tape or poke holes in things.

I think you used on the big bow card you did that you cut out with your oval dies, it looks like a scoring tool at one end and has 2 prongs the other end like a tuning fork that you used to give the bow its bendy shape.@@PositivelyPapercraft
