    @@bharathsy It is not far from accurate that surgical branches have higher competitions generally. GP's are in high demand in the UK and are relatively easier to get into. The following link will give you a good idea specialtytraining.hee.nhs.uk/Portals/1/2021%20Competition%20Ratios_1.pdf

    Sir after my MBBS degree in India can i directly study MRCS without any MS degree?

    Hello Doc I was thinking of doing my postgraduation here in India and then come to UK. But I have heard they only open new seats for MRCP and MRCS and not for other specialities like MRCOG, MRCPH. Also considering the current situation, in which plab seats are getting booked within minutes. Is it a wise decision to do plab rather than doing Royal college exams and then come to UK ?

    Hi Dr Doshi, The scenario is changing quickly as a result of the effects of the pandemic. The situation may change quickly, so please keep checking. The RCS exams is indeed a very valid option worth looking into. However, please spend some time to understand the pros and cons of each option first !!

    Is diploma degree enough to apply for mti jobs or dnb or md is must?

  • @EkanshDebuka

    DNB/MD is preferred but it is worth checking with them as certain rules have been relaxed/changed recently due to the pandemic.

    Dr Ekansh..Is there any age limit or time span from passing the post graduation that the UK people consider before giving you a training post..I read somewhere that the more years of experience that you have the lesser are your chances in getting a training post..let's say in orthopaedics considering I am one..

  • @EkanshDebuka

    @EkanshDebuka

    There is no defined age limit however it is true that more experience you have in orthopaedics, lesser become your chances of getting a training number.. This is because the scores get divided by a pre-defined number based on yours of experience thus leading to a lesser overall score.

    Sir, thank you for your wonderful videos. Can you please guide about the career opportunities in UK after doing Orthopedics Residency from India? Do we need to give MRCS or there is a separate test for orthopedics?

    Sir i am looking forward to take admission for ms ortho bt i am little confused between kmc manipal ( very good exposure bt no hands-on, only assisting) and mangalore (hands-on given bt exposure is not at par with manipal). Sir which acc to u wud b a better choice

    They are both very good institutes from what I have come to understand. The faculty at KMC Manipal is very renowned especially. I would say choose whatever suits your logistics the most but my slight inclination would be to KMC Manipal..

    So, is it difficult to pass throughthe interview if we are not having a research work to boost up our CV?

  • @EkanshDebuka

    @EkanshDebuka

    2 жыл бұрын

    Not impossible but if the choice were between someone who had research work on their CV vs someone who doesn't, it's fairly obvious who would be preferred for obvious reasons.

    Sir this year I would be starting my residency in Orthopaedic or Surgery (since counselling is awaited) in India. After which I wanted to move UK. So my concern is that.. Is it difficult for an Orthopaedic surgeon after qualifying Both parts of MRCS to get into training program for the same in UK??? I mean would I be getting into orthopaedic residency there?? And what about being general surgeon chances getting their residency match for the same??? Please opine… Thank you

    It's got challenges to get into training here but can still be done if you are focused and work accordingly from the start. Have a look through one of our videos on "what to do after MRCS" where we've spoken about the way / challenges of getting into training. Similar challenges for either subspecialties !
