Crab Snaring at the Jetty

A fun day hanging out with the two brothers crab snaring at the Jetty. All in all, it was not a bad day since we got there pretty late and because of the low tide. Still got'em with the snares.

So, by watching your footage I see the differences and the advantages of using a crab hawk or crab max over a snare. One of the main advantages is the bait on the center pin. When the crab pull, they pull the bait, the pin, and the line. You actually see the bites. It's harder on a small loop snare.

I clicked on this video because I wanted to see how the snare lines moved underwater with a current? What I really learned is how fast the crabs get to the bait and rob you!!!! No wonder I get robbed so often!!! That normal 10 minutes may be way too long!!! Question: how well is the bait bag working for you?? End of the season we started using the material over the top of the bait before we closed the top. It helps but the bag looked like a good idea. Very good video!!

Eugene Mitchell the bag works great and keeps the bait longer..anything that can wrap around the bait and be put in the snare is worth it

wow, I don't know why, but I love that underwater snare footage! so cool. but you can't tell how big they are underwater, they always look way bigger than they actually are haha. I thought Die Hard Fishing had some good underwater snare footage, but this one is a little better I think ;) you gotta end off the video showing off your catch!! I wanted to see!! What did you get?

yea this will definitely work for blue crabs. you can buy various sizes of bait holder and snare loop for your size crab on ebay or amazon. some snare are created with smaller loop and some bigger so depends on your preference..

Scorpiontube has a couple videos here that teaches you how to make the snares. I used his vids to make the snares then found other products I liked better, just the line and sleeves that attach the lines. For a few dollars you can make more snares then you will ever use!! It's the off season now so I just make snares when I have nothing better to do. I now make a couple types but the ones Scorp shows you are the most popular.
