Cozy Cottage Homemaking: Keeping the Home in the Mundane Moments
Фильм және анимация
Sharing cozy cottage homemaking has been such a blessing to me. Being able to be raw and honest about our day to day life and sharing my thoughts along the way. But what about keeping the home in the mundane moments? The very simple, day to day moments that seem so tedious or boring? These moments are the very ones I am striving to make the most of. I am trying to find beauty in the mundane instead of burden. Homemaking is such an overlooked role that a woman can get caught up and lost in, but this role is so very important.
I love what C.S. Lewis said about the home, "The Homemaker has the ultimate career. All other careers exist for one purpose only and that is to support the ultimate career." What a privilege it truly is! I hope you enjoy this cozy cottage homemaking video sharing my very own mundane moments friends! I would love to know your thoughts in the comments!

I'm not a mom but I've appreciated your content and creativity for a while. This post really grabbed my heart about the beauty in the mundane, everyday moments. Thank you for speaking on it and sharing your heart and perspective. It makes a difference to the world and especially the one I live in daily. Bless you for inviting us in!

Andrea, what a lovely video. As a grandmother now for a little over 27 years, let me say your words regarding those mundane moments are filled with so much wisdom. You will never regret providing the environment, love and quality of life for your family that you are doing. We all go through seasons in our lives that bring us such satisfaction, joy, and memories. When you look back at these years, you’ll thank the Lord for this precious time with your boys. You’ve displayed a healthy balance for giving them time, time with your husband, time for yourself and time with the Lord. It’s all a matter of priorities and it’s such a blessing to see a young family as yourselves to keep all of your priorities in sync. It’s more than obvious to the world that you enjoy all these areas in your life and without you coming right out and saying so It it also evident that you know where your source of strength comes from. I love all of your videos. Your thrifting, homemaking, and focused simplistic lifestyle. Keep up the great job! God bless you and your precious loved ones!

I 100% agree mundane is grounding! Even when my kids tells me that they are bored I feel like that I am perhaps doing a good job to allow boredom to happen to us on this crazily stressful world! 😅 Have a wonderful day!❤
I would probably replace the word mundane with simple. Your life doesn't lack interest or excitement with four little boys, but the simple days are the best. Loved this video
This is my all time favorite video that you have posted. Family is everything and everything you did with your boys none of it was mundane to me. My boys are 31 and 28 and I loved those precious years. I miss them. My second favorite video you have done is the one where you and your hubby shared your Germany trip. You have such a BEAUTIFUL FAMILY and home. I truly wish every mother could stay home and raise there children like you are doing. It truly would be a better world. I say that from experience. I worked and stayed home and staying home being with my boys and instilling our values into them instead of someone else’s was so important. God Bless you and yours.
What a beautiful way to enjoy the simple gifts of family and home that GOD has given us ❤
My husband shared that quote with me one day when I was feeling low. I've never looked at homemaking the same and even now as a newer grandma I treasure the thought. The investment of time and energy into my family is paying out in abundance! ❤

Loved your sweet video! My sons are grown and out of the house with their own children. We have all moved to be near one another in the past two years, which is such a blessing, to also help out with the grandchildren after a family loss of our daughter in law. What you have shared about mundane moments it so true and very important to have those quieter days at home. Thank you! ❤
We all need these reminders, Andrea. Thank you. You are a precious young lady. I truly admire you and your dedication to your family and home, but most of all to our Lord. Bless you and thank you again. Your boys are all so adorable.

I don't like using the word (mundane) to describe the ordinary things in Life that are the very same things that make Life beautiful! The most beautiful thing about Life is the Beauty in Ordinary Things!!! People need to open their hearts and minds as to what truly matters. 💜💜💜Thank you for this lovely, sweet video. 💖💕

Hello Andrea! Thank you so much for your beautiful videos and perspective, I am especially loving your homemaking content recently. I am a stay at home mom to a 14 month old baby girl in Alaska, I’ve been married to my hubby for 3 years, and I love the Lord and creating a life giving home for my family! Strangely enough, I also had a breech pregnancy, unsuccessful ECV, and c section delivery with my daughter. Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your videos and am praying for you and your family ❤️
Dear Andrea, This is the 4th time I am watching this one. Your calming voice is so nice to hear any time of the day. Please keep up with the making of your videos. I can relate to you in so many levels. I wish we lived closer and could enjoy antique hunting together.

Hi Andrea, my kids are now in their early 20s but I am/was a homemaker by choice the entire time (still am) to me that was a lifelong dream to be home with them. While yes, there were many crazy days, there were many fun ones too. I still strive to make my house a home, i live for that & all that goes along with it. You’re giving your kids the greatest gift…their mother is in the home. Kudos to you 🙌🏻 Watching from Michigan…Kim

Love this video. After watching. I don't feel like there was anything mundane about your day. It's just as important to have down time days and quiet time. We've become so acceptably busy and thinking in terms of entertaining our kids. Many moons ago when I was a child, we were out and about the neighborhood playing with our friends. Mom would call our names from the back deck when it was dinnertime. ❤

Such a sweet memory! 😊
I love doing laundry, making beds and working in the kitchen! I don't think of them as things I have to do, but as things I want to do. Of course, there are those days when I'm not motivated to cook so we have simple meals that don't require cooking. This was a lovely video, Andrea. Thank you for sharing your day. PS, today I woke up to a crisp morning, so I am having Fall vibes, too!

Thank you! And these crisp mornings are special, aren't they? ☺
Such a lovely heartfelt video. I grew up in the 60's and early 70's. Most of the memories I have in our parents home were just the day to day activities. My mom in the kitchen cooking, my dad usually repairing or remodeling something and the smell of the lumber when visiting the lumber yard on a Saturday. I can see my mom sitting in the chair after we went to bed (I was a night owl and would sneak out of bed) she would be putting curlers in her hair. Sharing a bedroom with my 2 sisters. Playing "hot lava" all throughout the house by placing magazines all around on the floor and we would walk on the magazines because the floor was "hot lava". Our family meals around the table where we always had a stack of white bread. Us 4 older kids setting the table, clearing the table, one child washed the other dried the dishes. My mom playing "jacks" with us on the floor. We lived a very humble easy life but those memories are everything. We didn't have a lot, we played outside from sun up to sun down, and we knew we were loved. Every parent needs to realize that every single moment of each day adds up to months and years and lifetimes. Keep it simple, have lots of love and laughter in a home and know that each task adds up to many memories for the family. Love your perspective and video!!

I’m a former homeschool mama of two adult children now. I loved being home with my children and rainy days were the best, especially when they were little. We use to set up obstacle courses around our little house to get the “wiggles” out, which included running up and down the stairs with a cray paper finish line. Those were the days my kids remember, as much as we loved to be outside to run and play. We also loved art time and my daughter especially is such a talented artist because she was given the time to explore her creativity. Your videos make me remember those fun days and also reading tons of books together.

Sweet Andrea, I love this type of content on your channel. Amazingly, I made a similar soup, using only ONE chicken breast. I opted not to add heavy cream, though. I mad some wild rice, separately, so it doesn't absorb all the liquid . It can be added into soup, when served. To stretch even further, serve with a crisp fall inspired salad of fresh greens, crisp sweet apple and blue cheese and/or a toasted cheese sandwich on sourdough or other artisan style bread.
