Coyote jumping a 6'-0" wall in Phoenix, Az.

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Coyotes are killing dogs and cats in the Phoenix Arizona metropolitan area. This is the first time I have actually seen a video of them roaming the neighborhood. My daughter captured this on her cell phone.

Un. Believable. I mean, I knew they could jump fences and walls easily, I've been hearing about it for a long time but to see it is something else. A six-foot wall, and it jumped it easier than a cat would. And I'm not kidding, I have SEEN cats jump 6 foot walls and they don't do it that easily.

My dad saw one leap a 5-1/2’ barbed wire fence! It was standing FLAT FOOTED and FACING AWAY from the fence! The coyote did a back flip over the fence. Dad was chasing coyotes away from our cows with a .22 rifle (coyotes have chased cows into barbed wire fences causing them injury). Dad was drawing down on one and saw the performance, he said he would never have believed it had he not seen it firsthand.

It is common to see coyotes where I live in Arizona. Mostly people leave them alone, and they protect their pets.

@alex-kj3qw Kids have no business climbing 6feet walls. If they are trying that on a wall with glass on top, they don’t need to go to jail, they need a psychiatrist

Because people don't keep an eye on small pets and leave trash everywhere, not to mention competitor's like wolves and bears have been very much reduced/eleminated by humans,we kind of caused our own problem with coyotes. Yes,foxes scavenge and get over fear of humans living in cities, but coyotes run them off. Between them and raccoons, we have created our own leveled food chain based off of human populations tendancy to be trashy. That, and not all abandoned pets find new owners or animal shelters. With a lot of survival instincts bred out of them, easy prey.

Great video, people should put out bird seed.... it will attacked squirrels and small rodents possibly rabbits , apple for racoons....coyote main food... increase those food source and they will leave pets alone. Lack of main food prey will have them turn to small pets.

That's I'll advised. You would be surprised at how well a coyote can defend itself. They have been in the wild their entire life learning to fight. If you think a domesticate house dog is going to know the first thing about fighting, your dogs are already at risk from being a misinformed owner. Fighting is a skill and a wild animal is the major leagues of fighting

In urban areas, dogs and cats are on most coyote's menu. You are putting your pet at risk setting them on a wild predator.
