This version blows the top off that Jonis Brothers bubble gum pop song. Didn't like the original at all. But love Courtney and her funky rock version. Just love her voice and her performance. She feels every lyric she sings. And you can see that. Rock on Courtney!

I've been a fan of Courtney Hadwin from the first time I saw her on AGT. I saw back then she had great potential for growth in the music industry. These 4 live covers only show us that she is right on course and we know she will continue to mature in the industry and leave her mark. For your analysis on her cover of "Sucker" I can agree with what you are saying and you present your reasoning well. +1 like for that. She has more dynamic range in her voice and is being withheld by the nature of the song itself. I agree with that assessment. I can also disagree and hopefully I can present my reasoning with some clarity. In all 4 live covers, I find I enjoy Courtney's take more than the originals. For "Sucker" she took a light pop song and gives it some R&B Funk. For what the song cover demanded she did well. Part of becoming a great musical artist is more than just raw talent of a singing voice IMO. It is more than simply picking a limited genre of musical style. It also involves the ability to change up the style of an original into something better than it was before. It involves showing diversity in the song pool. I don't believe this song was outside her style nor do I feel like she was playing it too safe either. I feel it showed us Courtney is also capable of delivering R&B Funk. Plus I think those studio musicians were also "killin' it" - shout out to them.

Hmmm, I remember the 1st time I watched her cover on this one. And I was caught off guard with the song choice and I immediately took a stance in my mind that it was not one of my favorites from her because of the song choice. But I kept an open mind and listened to it a few more times. Quickly I started to catch all the little nuances she was doing with her vocals and her movements inside a confined room of wires on the floor, and fell in love with this as one of my many favorites from Courtney. What I like is she takes every song athat's a production video but not just a home phone recording, and spend time on the details of how she presents the cover to fit her personality. I thought after watching it 10 more times she was so amazing how she pumped this song up to make me want to get up and dance. And the 2 musicians are so into playing along side funking this song up to meet her style. I personal think she nailed this one with attitude, complete awareness and control of what she wanted to do with it. But it's all about taste. I see someone wrote a comment here about her not being able to sing. I say, "Better question is why can't you admit your just not a fan of her style. She can obviously sing". Hoping for a reaction from her younger years again. Maybe an Elvis one here kzread.info/dash/bejne/lHWqo6V6fNjIdKw.html . Since you brought up his name in the beginning which I will have to go into your other videos to see what that was about. OK watched both Elvis reactions with Ann Margret. Now I get it. Never knew there was a remix. It sucked. Music sucked and way too loud. I did like seeing Ann Margret over and over which they mixed in.

I think the most important thing here is how Courtney was creative enough to completely change the nature of this pop song. If you liked the softer original I can see how her very different interpretation would not be preferred. Personally, I did not particularly care for the Jonas Brothers' version but loved Courtney's. It's like 2 totally different songs!

I do agree there are way better songs for her to sing. But I choose this version over that soft Jonis Brothers song.

I can never manage to pick a favorite of Courtney's four newer covers. They are all so phenomenal, and since they are all in different musical styles, I think all four rank equally. As to this cover, I don't see how it could have gotten any better. She took a pop song that originally sounded like 'just another pop song' and completely transformed it into a funk classic. It is virtually impossible to listen to this version of the song without wanting to move along with it. It will simply not allow you to remain still. This performance puts a smile on your face and a bounce in your step. Courtney certainly has the ability to sing this song exactly the way the Jonas Bros. sang it, but why would she want to. It is the very power of her voice that you mention that allows her to take the song to a level that others, including the originators, could never hope to reach.

I have become a fan of yours because of your insightful reactions to the courtney hadwins live covers. I could not agree more with you concerning the choise of this song for a live cover, it holds her back, it is toó poppish for her . a voice of this caliber should demand songs that match it, would please react to her original crazy little thing. Again thank you for your objective comments.

Courtney is very talented, and I believe has a bright future ahead! She has toned down her physical movements, and has more control in her vocals now! She is a force of nature! I have to admit that when she was on AGT, she was a little hard to watch, but I did listen. Now I can watch and listen. She’s obviously matured. I would definitely stream her music!!

I think she had to tone down her movements based on necessity. She had no room to move in that studio and her live performance with the STRUTS was same reason. But I know what you mean. She was wild with her legs. lol. But that had no effect on me not wanting to see her dance. To me she had a Mick Jagger vibe going on AGT when on stage. Not that she dance like him but more so that she did whatever she felt. Love that about her. She won't conform to any standards. Which reminds me of my youth. We didn't have so many rules like today. But Courtney can dance under control when she chooses. Did you ever watch this video of her doing "Tell Mama" by Etta James? kzread.info/dash/bejne/a61_xJemhc7OYqw.html or this one doing "Dancing in the Streets" by Martha and the Vandellas kzread.info/dash/bejne/c4Nhq6lxYL3Fk7A.html She has the 60's vibe going on the way she moves.

I'm a strong fan of Courtney and I do appreciate your thoughts. Personally, I would rather listen to this version than JB's version. I felt that the original version was just meh. Especially without the video. I should probably go back and listen to them again and really look harder for the nuances that made it the hit that it is. Courtney, with just about any song, grabs me and only lets go when the music stops. That's pretty rare. I have read many of the comments here and was relieved to find them split but respectful. I think you must have scared off the haters. This channel just keeps getting better and better.

I'm with you. The staccato section is a bit too smooth for me when the Jonas Bros. did it. Courtney funks it up to my liking, but I can see how if someone listens to their version 1st and liked it and gets used to that, Courtneys version might sound off to them. But I just didn't like the bros. version at all. Their video is what makes that song better than it was for them, I thought. At least for me. And I guess for those who think this was Courtney's least favorite cover of her Vevo channel, the numbers don't lie. It was the most viewed cover on her channel by a million. That's got to say something I would think. But we all like what we like. And that's that. lol

Yes, this song didn't do Courtney Justice. Views are approaching 4 million so its her most popular cover of current songs none the less. It's been posted she is writing and recording with James Earp in London now, so lets see if something worthy comes of that. Courtney has posted her upcoming album release will be ' epic ' .

Thanks for posting that about James Earp. I looked into him some. And he's got a very diverse and somewhat extensive portfolio. He is signed with Imagen Signs and also Sony. A short Bio says this, "Multi Platinum selling producer and writer". "I've developed artists my whole life and helped create over a million pounds worth of record and publishing label signings. I've had Number 1s and top 10 songs all over the world." But he's also a PR guy who finds exceptional talent and then develops them based on their own individual talent. He develops their image along with helping with their music. So that sounds like something for Courtney. He also composed the song "Bruises" by Lewis Capaldi kzread.info/dash/bejne/g6uotLqAYbTWgpc.html&feature=emb_logo along with many others. Nothing I'm familiar with since I don't follow today's music. I only know about Capaldi because of Courtney. This guy also started out as a guitarist and played in Europe with some bands. He writes and produces. Composes songs using guitar and piano. Hoping he doesn't change her and promotes her well.

Appreciate your honesty, Syd. She definitely changed the song drastically from a pop'ish song to one with much more funk and some soul. I loved all of her 4 Vevo covers (you've heard all 4 and really liked the other 3), including "Sucker" but, of all 4 of those covers, this one is in 4th place for me. I respect your feedback and hope you'll continue to cover Courtz. By the way, when you have a chance, would you please react to Courtney's ONLY original she has ever sang in public? It's called "Pretty Little Thing" and she sang it on the 1st AGT Champions season last year - kzread.info/dash/bejne/fINm2sOYl7iakqg.html THANK YOU!!!!

I agree with everything you say, I am a massive Courtney fan but this is my least favourite of her VEVO covers. Could you please react to Grace Davies, she is a brilliant singer songwriter, she came second in the X factor uk in 2017, she was robbed by a formulaic boy band. She took a couple years out writing new songs, she has just released a new song called “Invisible” and it is brilliant, very Powerful. Great lyrics great vocals. She also sang an original song called Roots in her X factor audition which is also fabulous. Please try to react if you get time. Many thanks. Steve

Wow. I really disappointed that you didn't enjoy this video. But that's okay because I agree with everything you said about her ballets. But they're my least favorite cover as beautiful as they are. I guess because enjoy high performance sportscars and date women with questionable morals. I love Courtney Hadwin's power and the pure rock and roll performance style. Lucky for us she excels at both. So thank you for reacting. I was really hoping that you would enjoy it but That's how the world works. Thanks for your reaction. It was worth the wait.

Anita, Courtney is a runner and has always been on the slim side, but she has shot up from 5'3" to 5'9" in about 1 1/2 years, accentuating her slim build. She's not quite 15 in that video and should fill out as she matures.
