    I love your artistic dreams, but your chicken coop has major problems. First, with no underlayment [tar paper or ice & water shield membrane (best choice) ] your roof will leak over time on that slope. Shingles are not guaranteed installed like that. Second, the flat pitch of the roof will not allow snow to slide off, thereby increasing water standing on the roof which equals leaks. Third, you probably don't have strong enough framing for the snow load in your area, thereby having a potential collapse. Your ideas are great, but your mechanics needed a professional.

  • @HiddenSpringFarm

    @HiddenSpringFarm

    Жыл бұрын

    All good points. It holds the load just fine, but I sure hope I don't have any issues like you describe...so far so good and it's been a year. I really wanted a steeper pitch but it was already getting too high with my crazy design idea lol. In hindsight I should have used an ice shield especially for just a few hundred dollars more. I just thought it was just a chicken house so we'll see. I hope it'll hold up or I'll just tar the whole thing lol. Appreciate the comment.
