I don't know enough SW lore to tell if him being loyal to the cause and seeing Anakin's corruption worth the martyrdom is something in character for the sith.

@@soapghostroach It wouldn't really save his life, he was still a Sith and a rebel instigator who willingly worked with Sidious. So why would he try to help the Jedi at that point? But if that doesn't work for you, then maybe Dooku felt speechless from the betrayal, and as an old man, didn't see the point in living anymore. Or maybe Sidious was using the force to keep him from speaking. We have options.

The reason Dooku wasn't a true sith all along was because he didn't take the opportunity to betray Sidious and take his place by ratting him out to the galaxy.

Dooku really did just want to fix the corruption rampant in the galactic government and reform the Jedi order, detangling their theological and political roles. He wasn't trying to get Obi-Wan as an apprentice to continue the Sith rule of two for personal power, but as an ally to legitimately help the galaxy

@@ryutipscows9712 no way. Anakin at that exact moment was the most powerful he ever was. He was peak jedi but also channeled his anger in a controlled and beneficial way similar to Mace. It didn't start to corrupt him until he killed Doku. After that the guilt from killing a disarmed former jedi started to eat away at him and led to him being manipulated and then acting on his fears over thinking things through. At best Sidious fights well enough to get away but probably just gets murdered in the chair.

You know, your last line "till his head rolled" is probably spot-on. Allegedly, upon being beheaded, the victim is still alive and conscious for a bit before the brain is starved of air and blood. Dooku probably only realized Palpatine legitimately betrayed him as his head was rolling around on the floor, then actually died as Palpatine said "He took your hand, you wanted revenge. It's only natural".

"Do you mind? My hands are full." Was expecting Dooku to say something like "mine were just cut off."

My headcannon had always been that sidious was so secret about his appearances and his identity, that Dooku didn’t know exactly who he was. It’s only when sidious does his evil sith lord “do it” voice that he realizes. That’s always how I felt about it

"The most realistic lightsabers in the market." Immediately followed by this video is just an incredible experience. I love this content.

Palpatine: "Count Dooku eats a lot of bantha cheese around midnight. Every night..." Dooku: "That is uncalled for!" These lines did me in, lol. It's such a petty thing for Palpatine to tattle about and Dooku doesn't even deny of it.

Love the acting but Dooku force dragging Obi-wan across the floor was what really got me.

My personal fan theory is that using the force makes you progressively stupider, that's why none of the jedi notice anything. Palpatine seems less stupid, but he didn't really use force powers until mace windu shows up to arrest him.

I feel like with any of these lightsaber ads, it's good to know that the blades never have a white center, it's always one bright color. I don't know if it's physically possible to make a saber that looks exactly like in the movies. That being said, they are still really cool.

Right! It's how the bright light reacts to any camera in normal lighting scenarios - I think by that logic you could assume in-world they are a solid color in Star Wars too but look that way since we see them through a camera? But they look that way in bright places too so perhaps not. Either way, you're still correct!

I know a lot of people will be quick to blame George Lucas as they love to do that claiming this to be a plot hole or bad writing but the reason Count Dooku didn't say anything was a character choice by Christopher Lee himself.

@@theguybehindyou4762 Well Lee, I believe is a WW2 Vet, and for starters Christopher Lee famously corrected Peter Jackson on what it would realistically be to stab someone. So I'll just say, he brought that similar experience for George Lucas as Count Dooku.

I know I read or watched that somewhere, whether it was an interview or behind the scenes, I don't know. A quick Google search showed a lot of other people also believe it was a character choice from Christopher Lee. So I would imagine the exact same thing happened, if George asked him to scream or whatever then Christopher Lee would have said no, it's not in my character, and it's more realistic to do it this way. I don't think Christopher Lee would stop making choices for his characters just because it's a different franchise.

@@TheBurningWarriorno there was a documentary on revenge of the sith or BTS commentary or something like that and it explains how Christopher Lee said it wouldn’t be in the nature of Count Dooku to beg so they let him be silently killed. I don’t remember the name of the clip though I’m sure it’s easy to find if you need a source that bad.

Great thing about these videos is Obi-Wan and Anakin always look like they're having such a great time together 😹 The wholesome version we needed.

That "it figures" line and eyeroll by Anakin was a stronger character moment than anything he had in the prequels xD

Palpatine was using the force to stop Dooku from talking. Not enough for a choke, as that would give it away, but enough to stop speech. not really, I just made that up

I totally love these Star Wars prequel videos. Somehow, both this and the turning off the lightsaber one seem so... canonical! Your portrayal and acting of all characters is pretty close too! Down to the way Obi Wan muses and ponders whenever he's confronted with new evidence, like "Hmmm... That's actually a pretty good point!" Cool fighting too, specially in the Turn off lightsaber one.

Realistically, how would this have gone down though? I assume that the chair isn't actually restraining Palpatine because it's just a pretend hostage situation for him, and when we look at Anakin, I don't think that he would be susceptible to dark side conversion at that time. So, if Dooku talks and Anakin doesn't turn, then I think Palpatine immediately funny spins out of that chair and surprise one shots both of them. Afterwards, Palpatine also finishes Obiwan for no lose ends purposes, and then proceeds to make his escape solo. Finally, back on Coruscant Palps claims to the senate and whatnot that both jedi valiantly gave their lives so that he could escape, but all the while internally seething over that fact that everything has not proceeded as he has foreseen.

Palps would never be able to kill Anakin, especially if Anakin came to the realization in the reveal that all the attempts on Padmes life was Sidious the entire time. That's death by Skywalker if I've ever seen it.
