I am happy to see that european manufacturers are rising : ANV, Manly, J&V, Salamandra, or BPS are really going into the right direction with their modern knives.

The silhouette reminds me of the protech TR3. Sick knife. I've been interested in Acta Non Verba for a while now. bladeHQ actually did a video of them a couple weeks ago, with an interview from one of the founders. As always, awesome review.

Just received my first ANV knife last week (an M311 spelter) and I must say, I really love high quality feel and appearance of it! So, my first ANV, definitely not my last… (and that A200 looks great)

This was almost a home run for me. The design and what it’s designed for are very harmonious. I just can’t get past the aesthetics of thumb studs. I wish they were a smaller diameter so the didn’t protrude past the blade. Maybe they had to be that big to incorporate their signature glow material? The knife snub in me would much rather have the glow material applied to the lock bar studs and lower profile thumb studs. Regardless, I’m intrigued enough to try one out and this company is definitely on my radar.

I bought the first couple of liner-locks they started out with last year, and while they are quality knives with attractive designs, they push the limit of what I’m willing to pay for an N690 blade. The main issue I see with this model is the Hogue Deka with 20CV and the best crossbar lock I’ve used coming in $10-20 less than this knife, and it’s USA made.

Oh for sure the price is a little high. Must just be a cost manufacturing in Europe. Possible custom costs to get them shipped over here who knows?

@@gideonstacticalHello:) I'm from czech republic and they are even more expensive here, even when GDP of USA is of course mutch higher and there should be shipping cost included in US Price point, as you mentioned. They use only european materials, or US imported materials tho. No asian stuff, that is certainly one of the Reasons of generally higher price point. I would really like to purchase at least one of their knives, even as a support of national manufacturer, but I've seen some rewievs mentioning poor quality for the price :/ Good that you Are happy with yours!

Hey man, I am gonna be honest I never understood the whole USA-made thing. I am from Germany and generally, USA-made tools are not seen as very good over here. Or at least they are not as popular. On the other hand tools from the Czech Republic and Slovenia are the tools you buy when you don’t want to buy German-made ones. Big German Hardwear stores often produce their own House Brands in Slovenia or the Czech Republic, and they are usually of good quality. If you buy every single tool you need “made in Germany” you are gonna be poor. And especially Czech knife manufacturers like Mikove have a generally good reputation in Europe. And I think it’s pretty cool that they use Steel that is produced in their neighboring country (N690 is produced by the Austrian Böhler company) Keeping the whole thing European

I can't remember the last maker that was so difficult to figure out. I really like their aesthetics and their design language. But I am not sold on their pivot method/thought process. Unfortunately I have only been able to handle 2 knives from ANV - the flipper (I think it was the z100) I tried had a very strange feel to the action and a bunch of fit & finish flaws but the double detent non-locking knife was absolutely gorgeous. It was like the two knives came out of 2 different factories. I hope they get those issues sorted out because they definitely have a ton of potential.

Have you ever seen or tried Eafengrow knives. They're Chinese from what I understand but they're apparently pretty darn good knives. The ones I saw were D2 steel. They have flippers and axis locks etc. Amazon has them and most are around $26. Also, Ganzo knives are about the same.

Aaron, I found an inexpensive brand of knife on Amazon that had good reviews. It's a folder made with D2, micarta, bearings and an axis lock for $27. It's a Sitivien ST110. I bought it to check out knives with an axis lock.
