"Corridors of Time" (Chrono Trigger) LIVE Jazz Cover // J-MUSIC Pocket Band

Музыка

Our live cover of "Corridors of Time" from Chrono Trigger, originally composed by Yasunori Mitsuda. This arrangement by Patrick Bartley.
As stated in a previous video, this game is truly and unquestionably one of the most beautiful RPGs of all time, and its soundtrack is unparalleled, without a doubt. It was this song, in fact, that put that notion over the top for me (Pat) when I first played through the game. In a similar effect that "Eruyt Village" from Final Fantasy XII had on me, this song (which first plays when you meet Melchior, and then when you reach Antiquity, originally known as the Dark Ages) cemented in the thought that I absolutely needed to explore this OST. It's taken a few years to finally get to this song (and it is by no means the definitive version - we acknowledge the mistakes), but it was worth the wait for us. Mat takes a beautiful bass solo here, and I was extremely happy to take this opportunity to solo over a harmonic soundscape that truly resonates with my inner being. It is one of my favorite solos that I've taken, if I had to pick, as it allows me to explore some of the melodic ideas that I hear in my head every day. We hope you enjoy our rendition of this truly timeless classic!

Thank you so much... I have to say this helps so much. I'm having so many memories of my wife who passed away and this is how I imagined it thinking of her from the music... She may not be here with me. But, she's in the corridors of time waiting for me... It has been since this past May of 2019. Now it is Jan 2020. Time stood still since then... I miss her so much. But, I can imagine she is walking along the corridors of time and amazed by memories from each era... I love and miss you my loving wife... Thank you for playing this amazing piece. :')

Trials of Mana is a really good, faithful remake of SD3. It manages to feel the way the original did, but brings in some great new stuff and the jump to 3D is perfect. Very much unlike the Secret of Mana 3D remake, which had all the flaws and weird bits from the original untouched and still in place. All they really added were the conversations the characters have while at an Inn. If they could remake Chrono Trigger in the same way they did Trials of Mana, with all the heart that was felt in the SNES game, then I think we would have a real winner.

"While it was true I had already indeed traveled through time itself, even that found me unprepared for what we dicovered almost 13 millenia prior, an ominous period in history of which little was known, and was thus widely thought to be a harsh era of struggle for humanity's meager survival. I learned this to be a deliberate half-truth, as there are no words for the awe which overcame me after first soaring into the sky, lifted on nothing but a ray of light, only to find myself taking my first steps onto that doomed dominion, the flying feifdom of magic known as the Kingdom of Zeal." - From the accounts of Ser Glenn of Guardia, Hopping Hero of The Mystic War

I love listening to this, and have done so many times since you first released the video; it sounds SO bittersweet, like feeling nostalgia and acknowledging at the same time that we can't go back and experience it again for the first time; reliving the wonder but having to do so from a distance. This is SO beautiful, and it does the original such justice that I don't know how to put it into words. I must have commented originally on the Patreon post because I was POSITIVE I'd said something about how amazing it is, but I don't see myself below, so... Just know it still hits just as hard- and it's just as gorgeous- a year later.
