Corpus Christi driver almost hits me and gets pulled! Garmin 67w dash cam footage.

Bought a Garmin 67w a while back and this is the first thing I’ve caught that I feel is worth sharing. Black Jeep comes out of nowhere and tries to run me out of my lane, then gets pulled over. Camera is center mounted in a 2018 Nissan Titan XD, hardwired with Garmin kit. Recording at 1440p, 30fps.

If the Garmin 67w is anything like the Garmin 66w try taking a picture of the license plate and then blow it up a little to read the plate. I do that on mine and it works just fine. Nice video.

From what I understand they are the exact same. The extra price in the 67w just includes a small amount of free cloud storage in case you have an accident and need to access the video later.

How were you able to record longer than 30 seconds ?

To the best of my memory, I have it set up so that when you tell it to “save video,” it saves 1 minute prior, the current minute, and the following minute. So essentially if I voice command it to save video you have a 3 minute clip.

Driving smack dab through the middle of a large, unfamiliar city, I hang center due to traffic constantly getting on and off the freeway. Also Corpus has several left exits…

It depends on the situation… If you’re stopped right behind someone or their speed is closer to your speed, yes. I’ve heard a lot of ppl saying to record at 1080p 60fps to be able to catch more frames in the event of an accident but I just happened to set mine up at 1440p 30fps… I may try to change the settings and compare the footage in the future.

@@jeremycecil9056 I just got a 67w and yeah when I’m driving on the freeway or even stopped at a red light and I download and review the footage I can’t make out license plates. I set it at the 1440 as well. I emailed Garmin waiting to hear back. If they don’t respond by the end of this week I’m returning it and finding another brand

@@jeremycecil9056 Yes you are correct, 60 FPS (Frames per second) will definitely capture more detail especially when it come to moving objects, license plates, signs etc. It's capturing 60 frames per second (2x more information) vs 30 frames per second so twice the amount of frames capture in a second hence more information when paused and smoother recording detail especially for any moving objects. Although 1440 may provide a little bit of a higher clarity in resolution detail in the overall picture it depends on your use case. If you prefer a bit higher resolution or want more detailed captured motion in paused frames for review case later. Because of the 60FPS capability alone i'm thinking about getting this Garmin specifically because of it. Most dash cams on the market only provide 25 FPS or 30 FPS which in my option is too slow for detail capture and creates a bit too much motion blur when you need to review paused footage later. But its smart of Garmin to offer 60 FPS as an option in the menu as you explained to choose between the options.

Why do u cruise in the middle lane? You should be on the right lane doing 55 mph and going slower than other traffic. Also, if a semi is blocked on the right lane from a slow driver he would need the middle lane to pass and you’d be blocking him. Learn the rules of the road🤦🏻‍♂️

When you’re 1700 miles from home, on a road with left and right exits, and traffic constantly flowing on and off in the right lane, you pass through a city in the middle lane. And we were well over 55… I appreciate you teaching me your “rules of the road” though! Thanks king!

@@jeremycecil9056 so because you're unfamiliar you put yourself in everyone elses way to get wear you need to go. Sounds exactly like what the driver you just highlighted in your video did lol. Not sure how being unfamiliar somehow makes it more convenient to be in one lane over the other when if the need arises you can just switch lanes.

The jeep comes up on traffic pretty hot and veered over in my lane. Evidently he was trying to avoid a speeding ticket because as soon as he gets around a coo comes blowing by and stops him.
