A question came up in the comments this week about the Garmin Dash Cam 67W. They wanted to know where the files were, and why they seemed to be placed in five different folders. You might use the Picture Option if you see something you want to save, like a license plate of the car right ahead of you.

I don't see the date on the files. And after 3 days, about 3 hours of camera operation, the two folders (100 EVENT - 105 UNSVD). are more than 26G. each one. So I format every 3 days. I installed a 256G Micro SD card. I put 30 frames seconds as the resolution.

Hi Bob. The UNSVD folder will fill up and then the Dash Cam will delete the oldest files in that folder when the memory card is full. You should not need to format the card to do this, it should be automatic. I use a 32GB card and it probably deletes everything older than 5 days or so. The Event folder is different, the files in that folder will not automatically delete. But it should not be filling up that quickly either. Are you driving on a bumpy road perhaps, and the Dash Cam is registering the bumps as Events? That is all I can think of. I looked again at the files on my 67W Dash Cam. When I look at them on my iMac, the files clearly have the file name, the date and time they were modified/created, the file type and the file size. So the data is there, I am not sure why you cannot see it. Hope this helps!

@@ThisIsJulianC Good morning ! Here is my news. I no longer have difficulty with my Garmin dashcam. I can see the date and time of the files, if I click: View - Details. Reduced resolution, with audio. I removed camera alerts, so kept it plus simple. After a week or 5 days of traveling 5 hours for work, I have a 38.7 GB folder. Now everything is in one folder: The 105UNSVD folder. I don't leave the camera out in the hot sun all day. I take it out of the windshield to put it in my travel bag. I am on holiday.! I am very happy, because it has been very hot in Quebec for 3 weeks. THANKS ! 😉

How do I transfer an "Unsaved" video to "Saved" videos several days after the video was "Unsaved?

Assuming that the unsaved video is still on your memory card and has not been deleted already I see two options: (1) The Garmin approach You can view your unsaved temporary footage in the gallery and save video clips from the unsaved footage. This feature is not available when the option to promptly delete unsaved video is enabled (Camera Settings). Select Down arrow > Gallery > Unsaved Videos. Select a day and time. The unsaved video for that timeframe starts playing. Hold Up arrow or Down arrow to move backward or forward through the video. While you hold the button, the device increases the speed at which it moves through the video. The timestamp appears in the lower-left corner of the video. When you find the video footage you want to save, press Right arrow > Save. The device saves a three-minute video clip. (2) The JulianC approach Pull the memory card, connect it to your Mac or PC, go to the folders on the memory card and download the files you want. Garmin dash cams conveniently keep saved and unsaved videos in separate folders.

@@ThisIsJulianC I've done both, copied the unsaved footage & put it in the "Saved" videos + downloaded the video onto my computer. I had to call Garmin who walked me through the procedure of copying unsaved into saved. Thank you, BIG TIME, for taking your time & effort with such explicit directions.😀😃😄😁

So how do you take all those small videos and make it one video?

If you want to combine the clips you’ll need a video editing software.
