Another great video 😊 I like the looks of this watch! But I’m also looking at the vertical, Epix pro, fenix 7 pro and now polar has a new watch. Looks like they’re close in price. Out of those which do you prefer and which ecosystem do you feel is the most user friendly?

Thankyou Ant!! Unfortunately, I haven’t yet tried the Polar so I can’t speak to that. I have seriously enjoyed the Suunto Vertical having now used it for the UTMB Arc Of Attrition AND two days ago for UTMB Snowdonia. The app is fantastic. Coros I’m still fairly early days with testing, but I can say the battery life is phenomenal & the durability is bulletproof. And lastly with Garmin.. if you use flashlights often, you’ll love that unique feature ❤️ All of these eco-systems have a learning curve but Garmin has a million-&-1 options which can overwhelm people and polar just didn’t feel intuitive, for example adding a map on their system is nightmare. For ease-of-use you’re probably better with Coros or Suunto 🌟Hope that helps, trust your gut when you make a decision 🔥

It’s becoming impossible isn’t it! 🤣 Plus I read on a public forum the other day that Garmin might release a Garmin Enduro 3 soon!? Can imagine that being rather spicy too 🌶️ This Vertix 2S is pretty fantastic for people who need the battery! If I was running the spine race I’d take it again (it just worked so well in those multi-day conditions). The app is pretty cool now, lots of updates since I last used it and it’s slowly catching up to Garmin in terms of features. The build quality is bullet proof, has good HR tracking. I can see why people love Coros ☺️ Personally for me though, I genuinely prefer the weight/build of the Suunto Vertical Solar Titanium. It has more battery life and solar charging too. Not having a scroll wheel is actually nice (no accidental button presses on Suunto). But one pretty big deal breaker for me is that suunto has a temperature widget (separate from a weather widget) for ice baths, sauna or camping (anything where checking ambient temperature). I know it’s a niche use case but I love it! Coros removed this ability 6 months back 🤷🏽‍♂️ So yeah, some nuance differences. Both great watches but it probably comes down to what app/software you prefer. If it’s Coros you’ll love the Vertix. If it’s Suunto you’ll love the Vertical 🌟

Oh.. and the Fenix 7 Pro is great too! 🤣Has a flashlight which to this day I still miss. Sooo much data which is really good like endurance score, training readiness, fantastic heart rate.. pretty perfect really. Unique navigation features like pace pro, climb pro and course generation on the watch. The only issue I found (which is pretty major for me) is the gps during navigation is unreliable, just stops working sometimes 🤯 and battery is not so great (If doing stupid ultras) 🤣 Hope that helps. All great watches but each have their quirks. Trust whatever your guts telling you 👊🏽🔥

Never used Garmin, I was going towards the Vertical, just heart rate reading is letting it down. Not that this is a dealbreaker. Thanks for the review and the fast reply 🤙🏼

A pleasure 👊🏽 Yh, heart rate isn’t the best but it’s definitely usable for most activities. Running and cycling is fine. Sleep tracking and most importantly HRV is consistently spot on. For intense workouts (Hyrox, circuits) HR strap is a must 🤣 Best wishes mate ☺️

I'm waiting for your next video comparison but in the meantime can you tell me which of the 2 looks better in closed environments and with little light? Which has the best readability and definition of the characters? Thank you so much🙏

An absolute pleasure Rob! You’re in luck, they’re both great watches 🔥 But there are definitely some major differences which people should know about.. weird quirks that you should know before buying.. I’ll have the comparison video done by Thursday hopefully 🙏🏽 Then I’ve got UTMB Snowdonia on the weekend 🔥 Readability it such a good topic I’ll do a whole section on this for Thursdays video. Sapphire glass is pretty reflective on both, both are limited by the contrast of MIP screen tech, but a low-light readability test is a great factor too. Noted 🙏🏽

Haha, I’ve not taken the Vertical off for about 6 months. I am really enjoying it tbh.. does everything I need, battery life is killer, the solar is magical (it actually charges the watch up as well as reducing battery decline), never let me down in an activity and great for sauna (has a temperature widget). Sorry to hear about the mid-activity crash, that does sound unusual.. the Race was always super stable for me when testing. Also when Abie tested it (for about 3 months) it was stable for her too. She’s been testing the Vertical, last time I asked she definitely preferred the Race. For 90% of people, the Race is probably the better watch.. but there’s something fascinating about being able to set off on a weekend road trip (UTMB Arc Of Attrition) not charge the watch for 24 hours.. run 100 miles with navigation, drive home, recover for a day and still wake up to >30% battery life 🙈

@@ActiveIdeas yes I totally agree… I actually had the Vertical before I swapped it for the race, if wanted to try the screen and also it just looks stunning. After my Race crashed I sold it and bought a Fenix 7X, a safe but boring choice, but I really cannot get used to the Garmin ecosystem, the looks and everything about just feels outdated, even after their Connect update. So now I just miss my Suunto and thinking about getting the Vertical Solar… I have a big UTMB race in Salzburg in 4 weeks, so I just want to trust the device I have in my arm😅

Ah wicked! You change your watch as often as us reviewers! 🤣🙈 Tbf, the Fenix 7X is a fantastic watch, I’m also not a fan of the app, especially after its update, but the actual watch is packed with features and you’ve got the flashlight! Maybe look on eBay for a second hand Suunto Vertical? Good luck with UTMB Salzburg, how many mi/km is your event? 😍

@@ActiveIdeas yeah I know… I just love running tech😂 but Suunto is the one that makes me feel the most “happy” about using, I also love the history about it, and that not everyone is using Suunto, like Garmin is on 98% of the wrists in all races😅 but yes the flashlight is so useful when waking up in the middle of the night and trying to find the toilet, and that feature is not to underestimate😂 It is Mozart 100, will run the 82 km with 4200 meters of vert. @@kristinjensen5367I completely get it! I was abit of a Garmin fanboy tbh but having tried these other brands I am well impressed with what they have to offer. Like you said too, it’s quite nice having a unique watch when everyone’s walking around in Garmin ;) GOOD LUCK with Mozart 100, I’d never heard of it so I just watch their highlights videos from last year and it looks unreal!
