I got this $350 watch (🤯) second-hand off eBay and I am convinced this is COROS' best watch and arguably one of the best options for ultra runners who don't have massive wrists 🤣🙈Jaw-dropping GPS accuracy, reasonable health tracking features and a maps/navigation experience which SAVED my 268 mile spine race. Yeah, the calories was pretty big for me as I struggle with my calories-in/calories-out so having more info helped with my food binges haha! Hopefully they improve that widget.. I’ve also heard that Coros have removed the temperature widget in the next software beta.. I hope they don’t do this 😳😬 Glad you’re enjoying the Coros platform! It’s a nice and refreshing switch from Apple, that’s for sure 👊🏽🌟

The Apex 2 pro is lighter in weight, and comes with the nylon band to save even more weight. On the wrist they will feel similar though 👍🏽 Both comfortable. I’d LOVE to review more Garmin products, I have contacted Garmin multiple times (no response lol) but for now I’ll just have buy/review/sell .. thanks a bunch for dropping a comment ❤️

They’re about the same price. Coros apex 2 pro is pretty old now and allll rumours are pointing towards a pretty imminent release by Coros. Lots of posts on forums about pro athletes being spotted with a new model :) It’s a bad time to buy a Coros. Whereas on the other hand the Suunto race offers more features, better value for money (amoled screen, sapphire and titanium build) and is less than 6 months old 🔥 Get the race, or wait for Coros’ next big thing (which will probably come with an inflated price tag) 🌟 Hope this helps

Also.. if you asking what I’d choose if I had to pick TODAY between the two watches, it would 100% be the Race. The only reason I’d pick the Coros Apex 2 Pro is if I was doing the Spine Race again. Coros was fantastic for that 268 mile ultra 🌟

No, the Suunto race strikes that balance really well! When the screen is not activated, when you scroll the wheel nothing happens which is good.. you then either have to flick your wrist to activate the screen or press the wheel (rather than hold the wheel) for the crown to do something. It would be nice if Suunto offered more settings around this too though 🌟

I think the display was either the exact same or SLIGHTLY better. The best display from Coros seems to be their Vertix 2S, where the improved contrast is genuinely noticeable ❤️ I’ll will say though.. all of these displays look fantastic outside, it’s just indoors where they feel abit weaker ✨

The Suunto race can set multiple alarms it also has really good sleep tracking (better than Coros & on par with Garmin) Suunto Race seems like a better option for your unique use case

Considering an Apex 2 Pro for hiking - how do you find navigation without having turn by turn compared to Garmin?

Quite honestly I preferred the Coros navigation when it come down to it. On the spine race I gave up with Garmin which kept on failing (same GPX) and just completely relied on Coros. I believe since the August 2023 software update Coros has had fully fledged turn by turn navigation too.. so that’s no longer an issue 👍🏽

I have a Suunto 9 peak and I hate the turn by turn navigation, always blocking my screen with messages. Instead, I prefer seeing the breadcrumbs map, I can surely figure out myself on where the track takes me. Especially on hicking, when you have plenty of time to see and decide. Now if you also have a full map, as you guys have on Apex 2, this makes everything even easier :)

Yeah, I’m with you mate, I definitely prefer having an actual TOPO map and following the route in that 🔥 Abie from this channel has been testing the 9 peak pro (check my latest video) but for the last 3 weeks has been using the Suunto Race.. she LOVED the 9 peak pro, but after using maps for 3 weeks (specially in south wales last weekend 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿) she can’t see herself going back 🤣 Suunto Race Video by Abie coming soon 👊🏽

@@ActiveIdeas I bet, I also love my 9 peak (non pro), it's the most beautiful watch out there, but indeed the data it shows is less than Coros, which is less than Garmin 😀 and no maps on it, even if I do find the breadcrumbs navigation very accurate and life saving. Still, I am hunting for a Coros Apex 2 too, to diversify and complete my sport watch collection :)

70% of the time I’d choose Forerunner 965 because of how it looks, how comfortable it is and how much data it provides. The 30% time I would choose Coros would be race day.. battery life and GPS performance for me as been unbelievable. I also found Coros to better with navigation when travelling worldwide and had more detail than Garmin in countries like UK too (more trails, tracks & roads un the national parks) hope this helps ❤️

I would like to ask you (most likely again), which one you would pick if you had just one chance: - Vertical - Race - Vertix 2 - Apex 2 pro Before you answer, I am current Garmin user and looking a GPS watch with great accuracy and battery life. When it comes to current brand, those watches are a bit too expensive. I think i would need to go with Fenix 7x, which, without sapphire glass, here in PL is around 690 Euros (with sapphire it goes to 830 Euros). Why I condider sapphire? because i have currently one and I know its durablity. And all above have it. I am also trying to get new brand watch with similar app features (e.g. easy to create structured workout based on HR zones). So back to the question: which of those you would pick?

Hello again ;) Ooo back with the impossible questions 🙈 Well if you want great accuracy, easily created structured workouts, great battery life AND a sapphire display I would definitely recommend Vertical if you need over 40 hours gps and Race if you need less! The Vertix 2 is simply just too big. The Apex 2 pro is worth considering but I wouldn’t pay full price for it.. you might see some amazing second hand deals on eBay (I would check eBay for all of these watches).. Apex 2 pro for £270 which I got it for that’s more than half the price of the Vertical and changes things 👍🏽 Hope this helps 👊🏽

@@teeramate Epix has I think similar battery to Fenix 7, right? As mentioned above, to have comparable battery to suunto, I would need to go with 7x. Even if I would aim in epix, race is much cheaper. F7 and epix gen 2 (both sapphire) are both at the same price here in PL

Hi there! Strange, i never lost gps signal with Garmin Enduro 2 but i lost signal cu Coros Vertix 2, quite often in the deep forest and in the mountains, especially on foggie weather (I have both Vertix 1 and Vertix 2. Beside the loaded courses you take a big risk exploring unknown ground). Maybe you have a broken Garmin product. At no point Coros can beat Garmin, maybe at battery but even so Enduro 2 have enough. I gave example Enduro 2 because i have it. I repeat, it is strange... i moved back to Garmin because of the navigation/gps and there is a big big difference of overall quality. Important to mention that my V2 was replaced after 8 months because the crown was broken...I don't say Coros watches are bad, but not high end watches. Coros is targeting Dechatlon customers, low -mid range of prices. They have a cleaner, easier phone software but they lack performance....My current opinion about Coros watches , to quote' DC Rain..."meh". And i was Coros fanboy then when he reviewed the watch...but he was right.

Nothing worse than losing gps on your gps watch haha. Interesting that you had the complete opposite experience to me.. just goes to show how much product variation there is! I am yet to experience any gps drop outs on Coros, didn’t happen once, despite the weather, terrain, speed, elevation.. but Garmin was on multiple occasions.. consistently letting me down. Yeah, maybe it was just my specific unit.. I had a broken Garmin and you had a broken Coros haha 🤷🏽‍♂️ Ahh the Enduro 2 is suuuch and awesome watch! I can’t WAIT for the Enduro 3 tbh, I wonder what they will do with that. Yeah I see what you are saying. I do think Coros deserve more than “meh”. I bought both the Vertix 2 and Apex 2 Pro for less than £300 🤯 The Enduro 2 cost me £929 😬 When you factor in the price that’s when Coros start to sound more appealing.. the Enduro 2 is not 3x better than Coros.. but it is 3x the price, lol! Also if you spend less than £300 on Garmin it’s very hard to find a touchscreen watch with navigation, build quality and battery life. Coros have got a long way to go in 2024 though because I agree that there is a massive gap in features and quality.. fingers crossed for Apex 3 and Vertix 3 Thanks for the comment and all the best 👊🏽🔥🌟

@@ActiveIdeas Maybe the Apex 2 is better than Vertix 2, but now i keep Vertix 1 for weedings , parties, and Vertix 2 as mp3 player. They look prettier but ...same opinion.There is a lot of marketing in the price of Garmin watches but i feel the quality difference.My focus is on my needs not moneys. I needed good tool with GPS/navigation and battery...and torch...and seems i got it. This can become very brand subjective but from my own experience...Enduro 2 vs Vertix 2 ...huge gap here. Coros didn't lower the prices for Vertix 2 (at least in my country market)but launched a lot of color variantion for middle price units so the focus is on selling/price. And yeah. i will change my Enduo 2 with enduro 3 if it is worth it.:) . Regarding Vertix 3....they need to have the same accuracy as Suunto at least.:). The best place to test it is when it's winter, fog, deep forest, at high elevation. >more than 800m. You will see Coros watches get laggy there.

@@dmytrodance Hi don't exactly what you mean... but you can disable the beeps from settings.

If you have a coros rep that you work with, tell them how much you like the thermometer. They have removed the widget in the latest beta. Basically because some people are too stupid to understand the watch can't give you ambient temp while on your wrist, and there's now a weather forecast for those idiots. (I mean, yay for the forecast, but come on. Both are useful in different ways....)

Are you been serious!? This is terrible news if it’s the path Coros are taking 🤣 The thermometer is one of my favourite features.. been using it alot recently for my ice baths 👍🏽 its sooo handy for people who love the outdoors. The forecast is a warm welcome but why not have both.. “forecast” and “watch temperature” .. it could even come with a little “i” information tab explaining to people that while on the wrist temperature readings will vary 🤣 Unfortunately I currently have no contact with Coros. They recently palmed me off 🤣 But If this changes in the near future I’ll definitely bring it up 👍🏽 Thanks for the comment 🔥

I also suggested, as an alternative, that it could be an 'activate' function under sensors and have the same sort of info pop up that switching to always on HR has. If I were a beta user, I would be putting it into my feedback on the release.
