The early part of the lockdown was so surreal. I remember a few days after watching this I had to go to the shops to get some food and basic items like eggs, flour, meat, toilet roll, tea, pasta the list goes on were all sold out. Also how the roads (including the M25!) were pretty much empty. We really have lived through a key part of history.

Yeah the early defining moments for me was the stampede in the supermarkets, before they limited numbers of customers inside with everyone else queuing outside. Empty shelves from panic buying. A woman barging in front of me in the chemist demanding to buy a thermometer, to be told theyd sold out. All the time there was never any shortages, just selfish people.

Something I found surreal was walking out onto the street in the middle of the day/evening and not hearing a sound. No traffic, no sound of people in the town, it was like being the last person left on Earth

This is laughable. He tells us to follow all these rules and yet later that year he hosts this massive Christmas party 😠😒 seriously!!

I was in my University library with all my friends when this was announced. We were all shocked and had a few days before lockdown gets put into full effect. That was the last day I saw most of them for a very long time! We all rushed to our accommodation, packed our stuff and left in the next couple of days back to our different home cities. Was very surreal, i still remember that day.

When he told us this, we didn’t realise that a year later we would still be locked down. The whole thing got ridiculous. We should never have locked down in the first place. It was never as bad as they said. Looking back, I believe it was the biggest con job in history.

Still an unbelievable moment to this day. It was such a shock at the time and the year following this was one of the strangest and most discomforting we’d probably experienced since the war. Bloody awful and certainly something that will live long in the memory.

Seeing the true mentality of people these days. Folks gathering around, with cans of beer, celebrating being off work while getting paid, instead taking stock of the reason why it had to be so in the first place and respecting the need for social distancing, going to the promenade on a day out yesterday, gathering on a mountain top etc...utterly self serving. Key part to me was sitting in my old High school one lunch on a Friday. Second death hit Scotland at lunchtime and 30 minutes later the head teacher was goung around in tears telling everyone we wouldn't be back and he may not see any of us again. Luckily we did eventually get back, but I'll never forget that. The streets becoming bare in the matter of a day, a town of thousands in which you were refined to socialising with the few in your home or online. Never again I hope.

Yeah, he was so scared he threw a party!

During one of the lockdowns, I drove me and my son who was only 1 at the time, to the beach where just a few people where. On the way we past a McDonald's, KFC and tescos etc which where so busy it was unbelievable. The police didn't stop anyone swarming the fast food restaurants and shops, no they stopped the people who where walking alone or with family out in fresh salted air at the beach. An officer stopped me whilst leaving the beach and asked where I lived, I explained that I lived alone with my son , he replied well we aren't issuing charges today, just warnings, looked away and drove off. Some officers still know that walking on the beach alone with your child is not a chargeable crime. In the respect of the amount of people that crowded shops and fast food restaurants. I'm still shocked that some refuse to acknowledge how ridiculous this was.

I remember breaking out into a cold sweat and couldn't control my anxiety, a thousand thoughts all rushing in my head about how much everyone's life was about to change forever, there was no going back ever again. I worked nhs during this time From March until October my hospital was virtually empty..we were fighting over patients..I was going home early..taking extended lunch breaks..staff team were the most happiest I’d ever seen
