I've been to Sainsburys and Asda 4 times in 5 days as there was nothing on the shelves. Today I went to Asda as there was a notice there will be new stock of bog roll, eggs, hand wash, etc. i went at 10am and it was all gone, eggs and the lot, bare shelves, couldnt believe it thought going at 10 was a reasonable time. People are queuing outside the supermarkets at opening times. Its unbelievable cant seem to find anything from anywhere. Dont know how long this will go on, worrying times...

Don't worry about it - take it day by day. There is enough food out there for a good while yet. People can only hoard so much - then it will begin to level out again. The supermarkets will likely enact stringent measures - so we'll have access to the basics.

The data from Italy shows that the average patient who dies from corona is 80 years old and will have 3 underlying health conditions. Corona virus / covid 19 is a geriatric condition that really only kills people in substantial numbers who already have end of life conditions. The politicians are just scare mongering.

@@talebdaas because if Boris Johnson tried to implement that in the uk there would be riots and looting all over the country and considering the uk couldn't handle the London riots, this would be an epidemic in its own right. the key workers work would be badly interrupted and their resources would be stolen. its a shame to say but brits can't be trusted to behave themselves for long enough for it to be productive.

London has a massive homeless population and many of them tend to walk around at night and then sleep in the day as it's safer for them. It wouldn't be possible to impose a curfew in London, as the police wouldn't know the difference between homeless people and other Londoners. Many of the homeless people just look like tourists with roller bags nowadays.

I have to move from my flat this week.. Guess I'm gonna have to rely on family to get it all done.

I'm also a single parent..no support. I'm scared for my life. Living with a lung disease that is progressing at the age of 38yrs old, I'm in a very vulnerable position. I am in lockdown..

Freeze Council tax too. Then make the Chinese government foot the bill when the dust settles

Boris can only advise people the public have been ignoring most of the advice, still panic buying, up until recently still travelling to countries with more Corona than Britain, they have been told to avoid large gatherings yet pubs full in some areas and at least 300 in my local Tesco panic buying the other day. How many will still go to work with Corona if they think they might lose money?.

Just a quick question - the government's 80% wage covering scheme announced today. Where is all that money going to come from??? Will they need to sell our public services (ie nhs) and other things, to pay for it?? Please tell me i missed something that would indicate otherwise...

Know its nearly 3 years ago but I sometimes do wonder whether Boris would have been better announcing full lockdown during this conference? We ended up getting a weekend where a large number of people visited tourist hotspots and places like parks and beaches which at the time caused concern and anxiety. Also at that time other countries had already commenced lockdowns. Was it down to the government being reluctant to enforce one until they eventually bowed to pressure for one or was it genuinely because new data became available over that weekend which wasn't available on the Friday evening?

We are all told not to panick and just buy your normal shopping . But its getting harder to buy just the basic food item's now and prices are going up.

Food is essential.Currently recruiting 3500 people for online food deliveries. it'll be the next phase. can't close em yet. online cant cope yet. But maybe if 10 day delivery becomes feasible for everyone, it'll be the only way to get shopping for many in cities/towns that may go into lockdown. Use ur noggin and stop pointing at the obvious,

I was working on an employment agency ,lost the work due to virus , do i get wages or just universal credit.

How will my monthly wages paid to me IF I stay at home for isolation?. Will it go directly to my bank or to my work place? Work place will never pay correctly, or may not even pay. Then what happens to your budget money for the employee.? Please CLEAR the chanel of payment.

Should've been weeks ago but whatever.

avoid social gathering in more than 5 people.....but having 200 people in tesco at 6am fighting over loo roll is totally fine.

I think there will be further announcements for self-employed people given that the government are announcing new financial measures every day

All I know is bear grylls won’t go hungry 😡

I will look back at this time at the greedy selfish beggars that have bulk bought and caused hardship to the rest of us. I would have liked Boris to have told all food shops to limit buying too much food but I suppose he won't go without so no worries for him.
