Thanks to workers like you i get side jobs such as this to go and fix your mistakes. I understand its the top of a building and no-one will see but take some pride in your work.

I’m really curious, what would you have done better? Someone mentioned pre drilling to not distort the metal. That made sense. Homeboy said the wall on top is kinda curved, so it’s not really straight. Is that something you could work differently? Genuinely curious.

Well I could put screws on both the side of the coping no over the tap the coping
Where is the clip metal and rivet the mitters the screws go in the inside wall will the CLIP goes in the outside is better if you soulder the mitters and put an underplates where the sims go
This is what happens when roofers try to be sheet metal techs...

Why put screws on top of the coping use a front clip to hold down the face down and it will look way better. That's how we do it in Florida.
@desj.d

The clip would only be necessary for high wind areas as I'm sure in Florida they could be hitting some pretty high speeds.

@@desj.d Continuous cleat is not only for high wind areas, it is the proper way to install.

@@tinman8284 *A proper way to install. You'll see a range of designs that meet ES-1 standards all with varying attachment methods. However, this doesn't look super great and I'm mostly worried about the roofing edge termination requirements being met.

@@RizzleK I follow SMACNA, you are correct that there are a range of designs but the continuous cleat is the best IMO.

Front clip screws in the back. And one piece those miters.
applying solder on the seams would be your best choice.
@MayonR

That would be overkill. It's already got cap underneath and I love their overlaps. Definitely going to refine my method.

Why would u solder it bro? It already has two layer torch down? Soldering would burn through the torch down, leaving it likely to have a leak in the near future bro. That’s basic sheet metal. Now if it’s stainless or copper then yea solder that shit.

None of you mention him screwing on the top. That was the big mistake made here
@tinman8284

Solder only the miters, if you solder all the joints it doesn't allow for expansion and contraction.

@@ronengle9524 Typical when a roofer installs coping though which is why roofers should stay away from flashings.
How much feet of coping cap do you usually do a day ? Thanks

Depends on the width, if there is underlayment needed and how many miters. 200' or so if it is fairly straight
Come on guys this guy its a pro 😂😂😂 dont be mean to him lol

Splice plates are OK in lieu of standing seams. Typically standing seams are only used if the width of the coping is over 18"

Really hahaha screws on top🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊
No clip.,tornillos arriva? Y rivets ?
Not the worst job I’ve seen from a roofer..... but wouldn’t pass inspection where I’m from.
easy cap you know what i mean easy fast snips all way get midwest miders i use rivets 1inch tabs keeper for the cleanest look barn screws on old every 30 60 90 on new building every 2 feet never put screws on the top will kill the % of leaks on the back of the cap i know union worker here

No cleat!!!! Obviously non union. Get local #104 brothers on it if u want it done right.
Only in American.
Missing cleat for the face. Should've at least used rivets on the miters. Also, Never put screws through the top. Only screws in the back. Very ugly installation
No wind clip, no standing seams, screws on top, shit ton of caulking( good cap flashing work should never need any caulking used), raw edges...fuck me
Slap and lap, top screw?!?!? Fucking brutal garbage install.
This must be the Mexican way! Anybody who knows anything about architectural sheet metal, Knows there should be a wood nailer on top of the wall to receive a CLIP that the coping is secured to .all over lap should be chalked or soldered according to the metal and always mitered. Like someone said, a roofer trying to be a tin knocker.

UStinman 84 it’s not the Mexican way dude. But there needs to be a continuous cleat b4 the coping is installed
The roof itself looks really bad, and the metal looks even worse. Wonder who picked up this guy's from home Depot parking lot.
