..the POV action sometimes veered off center, which you don't have much control over when you have your hands full working on the roof, but it did give a closer detailed look at the work when centered, which is a good thing.

Some things are common sense but still should be taught like how to put nails in your pouch, long chalk lines sag and don’t get your glue strips covered in gravel… these rules you often don’t know until you’ve experienced the resulting headache that follows. Good work, sir. I appreciate the detailed video.

The drip edge on the eve should be the one to get that folded tab and the rake needs cut to fit perfectly and make a pretty point on the bottom when they meet . And the nails on the pipeboot should never have exposed nails don’t shoot the bottom just the top and sides

Great job on all the explanation of everything it takes to roof. Always checking with your local codes is so important because some areas require two rows of ice shield because of the overhang of the roof. This gives plenty of safety for ice building up. Dimensional are always such a great look and actually are not a huge cost factor. Regular tab shingles I've done, I've off set 3 rows that would show more of a diagonal look instead of every other row staggered. I've measured from the ridge as well when you get closer to the top so the top looks straight. Of course as you stated, everyone has a different way. Huge crews of 8-10 are amazing to watch how well they all have a way to do each part. It looks like the roof is being poured on. Cutters do their thing as others do. I've never had the chance to use that style ridge vent and it does look really nice when done. If cap shingles are available. I like that too. It saves a lot of time and cutting which offsets the cost as well. Glad you covered the importance of safety as well. I know a roofing company that has special shoes with a tall heel so on 12/12 pitch (even 6/12 pitch) it doesn't bother your ankles. Great job Josh and get some sunscreen on my friend. Hahaha 🔨🔨👍🏻👍🏻

Oh yes, it’s amazing how codes vary so much from town to town and county to county. I remember doing three tab shingles when I was a kid and they are much different than the dimensionals. A dimensional shingle install is much quicker and looks better. Oh wow you have much more experience working with crews of roofers versus me. It’s typically me and one helper or my father. Oh yes, safety is very important and I definitely agree I need more sunscreen on lol. My wife said it’s the best farmers tan she has ever seen! I hope all is well with you David and I appreciate you watching!

I am about to do my first roofing project and think this did an excellent job of breaking down essentially everything I would need to know. I am not doing a whole roof, yet, but this will get me through what I am planning.

@TheExcellentLaborer It helped out tons! One thing I forgot was to put up flashing where my shingles meet a wall. Is there something I can do to remedy that without having to rework shingles?
