Yeah, it's a little complicated here who is owning the IP actually. The confusion is getting even bigger when you see the load of different publishers throughout the world for this IP on Wikipedia. It seems like this game was outsourced in a very bad way. The Publisher stated "The game is not as bad as people are making it, but it has issues". So, if a publisher is saying such stuff this means it must be awful. Was interested in the title but of course this isn't an option anymore.

The voice actress was kinda drunk when she recorded mama, like we got voicelines like; -Cooking Mama: Cookshta -IM. GETTING. HUNGRY! -Redy? Getset Go! and more. I mean, Mama always has had engrish, but not THAT much.

It was produced by a person with the name koch (actually unrelated to the koch brothers), the company is located in some house not an actual office, is apparently made without the help of the original cooking mama devs, requires a constant internet connection, and overheats the console within an hour of playing. Likely other accusations as well

RandomShinigami7 the publishers were advertising blockchain technology to investors. The devs have came out and stated the publishers have 0 clue what they’re doing and just using buzz words to get money. Also seems to be why the game is in a legal battle as the game was rushed for $$$.

Turns out this game was unofficially released. No wonder this game looks like a bootleg..

The owners of the Cooking Mama IP basically said that the devs who got the contract tried to release the game despite not fixing the numerous issues, breaking their contract

“I wanted Cooking Mama Cookstar to make me FEEL like Cooking Mama”

I think that this is one review that everyone can agree is 100% right.

Says a lot when the Kingdom Hearts 3 cooking minigames have more depth and variety than a Cooking Mama title.

It’s just the switch version of all the previous games. They kept the basics of the game. This is what cooking mama always has been.

I will just order a delivery

This game has made me realize how much I want an accurate VR/Motion controlled cooking simulator.

Bought this for my sisters switch for Christmas without looking at any reviews and decided to have a play of it myself. It literally looks like one of those mobile games you get in pop up adds. The only thing that holds interest is trying to do a 3 star speed run.

10/10 would let them mine bitcoin again

I really enjoyed it. Potluck party was the biggest disappointment to me though. Also this game is not a waggle fest. You will pretty much fail to saw anything in the game if you wave to quickly. I found that by moving forward and backward and lifting the joy con each time before I cut worked better. Also for the grating mini game you have to gently shake the joy con back and forth and can recenter with the r button.

Playing it now in 2021 and it's pretty alright for the price of 30 bucks.

The game was just never supposed to release the publisher or developer said it wasn't supposed to release but another matter developer or publisher just released it even when told not to

It doesn't matter. I miss the old Cooking mama games, but Zelda BOTW and Pokemon have great cooking games also.

Id honestly prefer if they kept the pixelated style, its just more pleasing to the eye.

And here I thought the Cooking Mama series could go further. Sad to see that it feels like there is no more effort in them anymore. Loved the Cooking Mama games and sad to see this has so much problems.

This just looks like a Nintendo Switch Port of the mobile game. Like the way the game looks down to the motions done in the recipes. It all looks exactly like the app.

My 3 year old loves this game, and hasnt had any joy con issues. It's so cute seeing how happy she gets when she finishes the dishes.

How dare they massacre my poor boy. Step up Nintendo.
