Sounds like it’s the same voice actor but she seems to have stopped doing the super energetic lines, I do miss hearing things like “Terrific! Even better than mama!” But here she sounds like such a caring parent that I don’t mind, feels more like a mother encouraging her child.

I don't know. They could have just reused Yoko's voice clips from the previous titles, but they have to give Mama a voice that sounds like she's bored!

The voice feels so... wrong. That cheery, energetic attitude that perfectly matched the exaggerated facial expressions of Mama is gone. Now it feels like the voice actress is just tired of her job and doing it to just pass

Though her voice sounds like the kind parent anyone would enjoy having, she sounds.. sad. The finest memory I have of cooking mama is her encouraging really excited, "Woah! Even better than mama!" Is one of those lines which should be said, and said with emotion.

Hearing that there's all sorts of drama and controversy around a new release of this game kinda bums me out. Even if allegations get proven false, sales are still gonna be soured by what was said and misinformation still spreading, and it's not like this series is a hotcake seller as it is. It's always been a cute, kinda guilty pleasure of mine, even if I only managed to play some of the DS ones and a little of the 3DS one. Especially since you can't even find good quality videos of people going through all the foods and minigames save for the first one, pretty much. Thanks for providing me a little window into what should have continued being a harmless, innocent series. :)

Even tho mama sound a bit less energetic (a lot acc) what impresses me is the concept of the game. Instead of just clicking a few buttons, an interactive experience is made. You can move the joycons as if you are cutting, mixing or kneading which I find really cool. Also the variety of foods and quality is really good!

Ah the addition of the dog is rly cute~ it reminds me of the Japanese cooking channel here on yt Cooking with Dog. It was on the eShop for a short while on the day the Nintendo Direct Mini happened over a week ago. I actually almost purchased it, but barely missed out since it got taken down before I finalized the purchase. Figured it was a mistake since the release date of the game was March 31. However, it still hasn't been back on the eShop since. Retail copies of the game did release on March 31 though, which is what I bought. So retail is the only way to get the game right now, with the eShop release coming later. gonintendo.com/stories/358328-cooking-mama-cookstar-physical-copies-available-in-north-america Why that is, I have no idea. This game pretty much released with little to no promotion with the digital version appearing and disappearing, it's been weird.

I think it is a good choice for Office Create to stop this game from releasing (whatever the game is mining cryptocurrency or not), the quality of the game is super poor. Even uni students in their 1st year can do better……and it doesn't change anything explaining how the members of the development team "loves" Cooking Mama series. I hope Office Create can try to fix the game or release a proper one……

Bitcoining Mama: Mining with Friends (Before everyone asks, it was a rumor when the game was released. If it weren't for the poor motion controls, and bored-sounding voice acting, the game could've been a decent improvement over the other games with improved graphics. But with the bitcoining and cryptocurrency dramas, rumors and controversies, as well as this game being an unofficial release (it went on sale without permission from Office Create themselves.), it was received poorly. And I do mean, VERY poorly. But hey, at the end, Mama (Office Create) fixed it by terminating the license. Good for Office Create!)

I'm fine with a Japanese VA - she managed to get a decent & appealing balance for her voicing performance from World Kitchen and Cooking Mama 3. But, in here, things went wrong - voice actings are utter dry and mindless. Clean and more accurate pronounce couldn't save the overall feel unfortunately. Seemingly the same VA with previous one though. What went wrong today? Failure of balancing done by herself? Poor voice directing that may misleaded her direction? Or, what could be a problem behind this?

It has partial touch functionality. Menu navigation can be done with the touchscreen. When playing the game though, you can only use motion or buttons.
