    1 Corinthians 15:1-4 NLT - Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you-unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

  • @LinnyGFX

    @LinnyGFX

    That sounds like you let things bottle up inside of you for a long period of time, seemingly unaffecting you to yourself and others, until you boil over. I spent my whole life "correcting" my feelings as they popped up to lubricate my social life. I recently found I had it all wrong. It is vitally important to remember to not suppress your feelings, in the least cliche way possible. You have 0% control over your feelings, so you must accept them and digest them as they appear. The key is that you have 100% control over your ACTIONS. Once you fully understand that and practice it, you are able to feel furious, or ecstatic, without disregarding the emotions and putting them on a high shelf to think about later, all while keeping your composure through your actions.

    @@LinnyGFX you are definitely right and I appreciate the kind/helpful words. For me, it’s definitely what you said, but there’s also some odd control element to it too that I don’t quite understand. Whenever something “triggers” me (I hate that word) it’s like I go into some type of danger mode and if I’m not granted complete control of the situation my automatic response is to use extreme aggression to get it. Unfortunately what will “trigger” me is almost completely unpredictable. It’s difficult to tell loved ones “if I tell you to shut up then shut up” because it’s not a fair or reasonable expectation and it’s very entitled. On the flip side, if I don’t have control of the situation in those moments, it seems like I will invariably lose my absolute shxt. It feels like I’m trying to save people from danger but the danger is actually me so its super weird and confusing. It’s so rare too that it’s just really hard to nail down

  • @LinnyGFX

    @LinnyGFX

    @@TheRealAdam23 I believe your triggers (i hate the word too but its fitting) are less random than you think. Wow. We all have our crosses to bear but that’s tough. You’ve had it rough. Many people haven’t suffered like you. But your cross will get lighter if you forgive those people although they don’t deserve to be forgiven. I agree that it’s easier said than done. But for your sake you have to let them off the hook. And even if you don’t forgive them overnight, nevertheless you’ll start to get some peace if you know this is good advice which you’d like to follow. The reason why prayer works even if we think it’s falling on deaf ears, is because the creator requires it to obtain access into your life. Your sharing like this proves to me you’re a survivor. When you get to my age of 75 I’ll be 6 foot under pumping up daisies but I wish I could be around to see the overcomer you’ve become. Try and live in the now. Man I feel that shit. I grew up in chaos. Childhood was fucked. Dad was schizophrenic alcoholic abusive, we left him early but mom didn’t know how the hell to be a parent either. Hence, learning no such mental/emotional life skills. I remember when I first became aware of my temper issues. I was 14, doing math homework, sitting in my room listening to Nirvana Unplugged in 1994. I started getting so riled up about a math problem I couldn’t figure out, then I snapped and went into a frenzy tearing all my posters off the wall and punching holes in the Sheetrock. … the next 20+ years was a lot of drinking, a lot of avoiding my feelings and snapping and spiral into darkness often. Finally just now in my early 40’s getting ahold of myself. But shit howdy what a ride.

    It’s possible to obtain some solace by realising that it’s not your fault you got a raw deal with your childhood. It’s something we have no control over. We don’t choose our parents or where we are born. It’s the deal we got dealt. And as we come to terms with this and allow ourselves to harmonise with it we obtain a new strength. But if in our pursuit of happiness we don’t acknowledge our creator, who will help if we ask, we aren’t running on all 8 cylinders. To pray requires humility. Give it a shot. 🍀🍀🍀🍀

    Dude I ain't hating and what helps ya helps ya. I ain't trying to judge it. But God gave every man freewill so he does have control. Putting things on God that are man's is a huge problem with religion esp the Christian faith. He gave you that anger your trying to control as well. Everything has its season under the son. I'm not blaming you we all look for answers and what seems to help isn't always as it seems, but hey let's alter faith to fit us instead of getting closer to understanding the flaw of religions. Js God doesn't care about your religion your label was created by man alone. That failure of understanding has caused more death in the name of God than it should've been allowed to. There is a creator , religions just turned him into the character each society could embrace and rationalize. It's like a spawn of culture. Yet if there's one god there should only be one faith in a day where cultures are fading as globalization creates one global culture, religions are going to face strife to assimilate to one faith. Your god isn't better than Allah or Buddha in fact it's the same. When wil man stop letting his insecurities dictate the global future? Did God not say they are all his children? Your told the path to heaven is thru the son , Jesus whom was a Jew , your destination is heaven or hell for your souls eternity accordingly. Yet Jews believe not in heaven hell or even the soul you think you need to save. Not to mention they are supposedly gods chosen people. Why would he choose people that don't believe in what his son offers? Why does the god of old testament and new testament appear to be two distinct different gods. One of wrath and vengeance the other of love and compassion? One doesn't need religions lies to walk with God never did. They are of and for wicked men seeking control of others , the very decievers your warned of the false prophets the men your told not to trust in but in God. Sorry got on a bit of a rant. But keep up the good fight

    My trauma therapist said anger can be of three things: hurt, frustration, or fear, and I kind of agree. My (29) brother (32) died suddenly in front of me almost two years ago and I can't tell you how much anger I have. Anger at me mostly, but the stupid little things that just set me off and I see red. I am not an angry person, quite the opposite. But it scares me to have these emotions because they are so intense, especially trying to fight through the mud of grief. I am a nurse and have carried so much guilt for not being able to help him like I could have, but I'm learning to accept: 1. I can't and won't save everyone and 2. I acted as his sister, not his nurse (called 911, tried to get him on the flat floor to do compressions but couldn't because he was a weight lifter). When I really broke down my anger, I have been able to identify that feeling and choose how to respond accordingly. It's the catching the anger that I need to work on. I also think the climate we are in, it's almost as if we are more strangers than we were and it seems more me vs you/them to the wildest degree. There are resources out there for help, but some choose to stay angry, stay miserable because it's so ingrained in them it'd throw them into an identity crisis and that's a HARD slope to climb up from. It's possible, but it is so uncomfortable.

    As a guy who struggled with anger issues most of my adult life, your words ring painfully true. My over- sensitivity towards what other people said caused lots of damage in my personal life. Only within the last two years have I begun to let go of the grip that anger had on my Being, and as you wisely indicated in your message, Humility is what helped me control my temper (quickness to judge or defend myself). Anger is death by 1000 cuts, and God forbid you try it on the wrong person (with an even worse temper) as it could be the last stupid (and selfish) thing you do on this Earth. Cultivating anger is like holding a grudge against yourself, and that attitude only hurts you and those around who want to love you. LET GO, AND LET GOD! Ask His forgiveness, and then forgive yourself. Tomorrow is your opportunity to get it right, one day at a time!

    You say let Go and let God I did that and guess what it did nothing! I have given love to those not deserving forgave those who hurt me and lied and guess what I ended up alone! Friends gone lies from others but always asking of me to help them. I have been used and abused and I’m done with it all this world needs burned to the ground and if your God is the one who allows all this suffering by evil men without cause then he should fucking burn as well. Love doesn’t exist anymore loyalty is a delusion people except from others who will never give the same in return! I’ll only have peace when I get to stand before God and ask why did you allow this why not start over instead of allowing generations of suffering and why do you get to judge any one when it is clear by your own account that you not only allowed evil to come to the un deserving but to rule over the many to spread corruption like a plague!

    You know one thing i always prided myself in was that i never got mad no matter how poorly someone treated me or those close to me. However, I mistook it for stoicism and it isn’t until the past two years where i started to exercise and eat better and spend more quality time with my fiance did i learn that I was actually emotionally detached from myself. It almost ruined my relationship, but as I learn to be in touch with my emotions better I am more happy, joyful, empathetic, but also I find myself more angry and that “temper” that was so easy to control is not so much anymore. Now I am learning to control my emotions; true stoicism and this video helped capitalize on that. While I place less and less value on the things that arent important I am starting to place more value on the things that are such as family, friends, and most importantly my fiance.

I feel like I forget that sometimes too, and it can make a huge difference in the way you approach things. Like, my mental health and physical well-being are important to me, so I will no longer tolerate bad behavior or hang out with people who repeatedly cross my boundaries because it leaves me drained and less able to focus on the important things in my life. It was a game-changer for me. I'm living a much less stressful life since I started considering myself too rather than just stoically tolerating mistreatment. Anyways, just my two cents. Have a good one.

I'm 25 and he's 24 (and 3 quarters) and we've got a long way to go but thanks to you I think we can start implementing the advice you gave us today. God bless you and your family ❤ Congrats on the grand baby🎉 Our son will be 2 in May and babies are such a gift of love 🥹 It's wonderful!

    Not a young man - but young all the same. I got my anger from my father who got it from his father. We call it the “Clark temperament” That’s what we always said anyway. Come to find out it’s just adults failing to teach emotional regulation to their children because they didn’t have any understanding. I get this huge pressure in my chest and the only way I feel I can release it is to blow up. I’m still trying to find ways to cope with what my father has dealt with his whole life. Thank you for this video

    Great Message Sir! About 25 years ago I escalated a situation, and I decided then I needed to work on my temper before I ended up dead or in the pin. My tempers way better now, but still a challenge at times. Now I pay attention to my heart rate and breathing, and ask myself is this situation really worth getting worked up over. Most times it’s not, I take some slow deep breaths and let it go. Life’s too short to be pissed all the time.

    @@JanPatrickLucas I respectfully disagree BUT I do understand. The reason why these approaches donut work anymore is because this society is full of wimps and dare I say homosexuality is now accepted. I am the first generation that has managed to stay out of jail in spite of my temper but at the same time I can go back and get down on myself for times I should’ve stepped it up and laid a few people out. My guess is that you were in the right but the law got between you and your opponent. we are a dying breed but we are men, I have two boys and I have told them to watch their temper because my God they’ve got it too. When people like you and I fail at something it’s because it is our fault we don’t blame anybody else but ourselves but in today’s society it’s always anybody but the person who failed. I’m sorry you had to pay such a steep penalty that must’ve been horrific my greatest fear in life was going to prison. I think that’s what kept me on the straight and arrow for the most part. And when I say kept me on the straight and arrow I do not mean that I would have done some major crime I was always aware of what was right and what was wrong and I try to handle myself honorably but when it comes to standing up for my family or myself that’s a different story but I’m 60 now I think I’m past all that my worst encounter was being surrounded by 17 drunk Mexicans with my two boys asleep in the car I would not leave that vehicle without them it’s a long story but I am still here and my boys ended up safe as well. I now live in the woods of Idaho alone. If I can say something negative about my disposition is that I could never find a woman that understood me and my prison is going through this life alone because of it

    Diet is so important! More important than exercise! If our diet isn't right, we can't be at our best. Also anger and stress can destroy our health. Stress is a massive cause of heart disease! I am speaking from experience. Ten years ago I had major heart issues. For me the most important things are my diet and reducing my stress as much as possible. If my grandparents wouldn't recognize what I am eating, I probably should not eat it! Stay away from all the highly processed crap. I agree with the physical exercise. It's my drug. Great advice. I have suffered from depression, anxiety and insomnia most of my life and those things have made it so I don't need medication and I am pretty calm, cool and collected most of the time. I have always found that horses (and animals in general) ground me so I never really had a terrible temper around them, but I sure did towards humans. Everything you say here is absolutely true.

    I’ve worked as an EMT and in construction remodeling houses. I’ve always been told I’m a calming person but I would say my anger feels a lot like yours. After seeing as many people die as I have you start to lose patience with people. As I work construction now where it seems like everyone struggles with their temper, it can be almost unbearable some days with the amount of patience I need. The gym you were talking about sounds really nice, exercise has helped me tremendously. I think in my case I’ve been putting too much value in others opinion, along with not taking stock with myself as you pointed out in the video. I’m 26 now with a child and my relationship with his mother failed. I’ve had a problem forming new relationships since then. I think this video has helped me find some changes I can implement to better myself. Thank you for your time sharing the wisdom sir. I was pissed that I had to go,so during the first session I declared I didn't have a anger problem that's just had to be a hard ass because I was in the business of building men to fight wars,the young man conducting the session that I out ranked flatly looked me square in the eye,and said," yes you do have a anger problem because you have a lack of self control self discipline" and you know what? I had no response because deep down I knew he spoke the truth. His words changed my life my attitude.

    Whether or not your father deserves your respect nevertheless if you give it to him the tension will diminish. Ultimately he will bless you for it and also your view of older men will change into one of not being threatened by them. And therefore your happiness will grow. Don’t hesitate to call your father Sir and do it often. Lace your speech with high levels of respect towards him and your life will improve. Get a large photo of your father and hang it in a prominent place in your home and it will allow you to admire him, even if he has few admirable qualities, but finally it will result in you loving him. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

    Here is the same story but a more expanded version. It’s a funny thing with parents. Well it’s not funny haha. Calming down parents is the key to blessings. Lavish your old man with oodles of respect even if he doesn’t deserve it. It works. They start to become agreeable. I speak from experience. I had the same problem with my father and now I’m a 75 year old great grandfather. But my Dad was blocking me if you know what I mean. Anyway this is what I did. I got an extra large photo of him and put it on my wall. At first it was upsetting seeing his photo there. But two things started to happen. I allowed myself to admire him and eventually I began to love him. But the photo started to change. It wasn’t actually changing. It was my view of him that was starting to change. And he seemed to have a look of I’m for you son. I still have a photo of my parents on my bedside table today although they have been long gone. And he knew I had his photo on my wall and I knew it was floating his boat. He appreciated it. Also I told him I had his photo on my desk at work. All of this helps but also it gives you protection from others when they know you’re doing this because it prevents them from inflating themselves against you when they see you’ve elevated your parents like this. They cut you a break because of your humility. Don’t underestimate this. Also your father will bless you and believe me that’s worth having. It’s only our pride that prevents us from being wise like this. I could have really done a number on my father but I just wasn’t smart enough. If I had my time over again I would have addressed him as sir and father instead of dad. And man that would have worked a treat. Good luck young man. 🍀🍀🍀🍀
