"Contraction" - Concert for no input mixer / live at Harsh Noise Fest
If you watched my previous videos or listened to my latest albums you know that nowaday I combine an extreme type of aesthetic with a lot of familiar elements (rythms, structures, melodies and harmonies, etc). But I have my roots in plain and simple harsh noise because it was my first real epiphany when I was a teenager (and also the reason why I'm still making music). I love to go back to that side of my musical path and it is always fun and cathartic to play a set without any expectation, purely improvised, just for the sake of making a lot of noise and create a performance/ritual where you and the audience can lose yourself into sound. That's the case of the concert that I did during the "Harsh Noise Fest 2022".
In a live situation the emotional involvement of this type of performances is absolutely different from the one that you can have with a video (and if you find a noise concert close to where you are I highly suggest to live the experience in first person), so obviously the effect here is less "in your face", but I hope you will enjoy it anyway!
Free improvisation for no input mixer and live electronics.
Maximum volume yields maximum results.
Recorded live during "Harsh Noise Fest 2022" at Exp.Sound.Lab recording studio, Santa Maria di Feletto, Italy, 28th May 2022.
Additional video footage by Paolo Pandin & Chiara Becattini.

Truly impressive. I like this style of making sound from signal itself. It kinda describes the sound synthesis better than synthesizers can tell.

Thank you! I totally agree, and I love how sound in electronic and electroacoustic circuits works, a neverending surprise that starts from the basic principles and can be developed in many directions
Super kraftvoll!!! Einfach unbeschreiblich. 😮

For me it is all a matter of action and reaction. In those moments it is like a sort of trance/extreme focus approach to every sonic event. If something interesting happens I'm ready to catch it, or to move to something else until I find something that I like.

I start to notice little things, like you have a dresser drawer for some pedals.

Hahaha yeah it seems so, but it's actually a super cheap case I built with a couple of pieces of wood and a drawer handle 😂
It`s more like a rehearsal of concert.

not really, it was an actual concert in front of an audience but I totally get your point. Sometime the line between final product (concert) and process (rehearsal) is super thin when a work is deeply rooted in free improvisation. That's the "good" and at the same time "bad" thing about it.

@@AndreijRublev Импровизация не отменяет того, что музыкант должен продумывать своё выступление: как оно будет развиваться в процессе исполнения, с какой динамикой и экспрессией.

Totally agree! I must also add that a huge limit of this type of video/audio documentation of an impro concert is that it lacks the context, which is a rather important part in this type of performance.
