Half of it is 2D sprites and they still look shoddy. The music sounds like a few default sequences that came on someone's crappy synthesizer. Half the bosses are stationary. The levels look half empty and even the title art is terrible. This was just plain shovelware.

@@osvaldoramirez382 Said the guy with reading comprehension of 5 year old to a guy who started his gaming from Atari 2600. Compare the early 3d entries of previously 2d games. With very few exceptions, like Ocarina of Time, this was a downgrade in terms of graphics and art direction - the technology just wasn't quite there yet. Take a look at classic Castlevanias for example - Castlevania IV and Castlevania on N64. SNES version has wonderful art direction and graphics - gothic atmosphere, yet still vibrant colours, grat attention to detail as well. N64 - mostly greyed out, washed out texturework, everything is blocky, framerate gets choppy at times, camera wants to kill you - all those things are sacrifices made for the sake of 3d. Or here, loot at previous Contras, the 2d ones - compare the detail of sprite work in Super Contra or Hard Corps to the detail of textures and models here... Again, all sacrifaces for the sake of 3d. And besides - if you go with assumption that modern games are boring, you simply chose wrong games to play. AAA market is often a crapshoot.

It looks fun, it looks Contra, but just doesn't look like it plays enough like Contra. Probably the opposite of Hard Corps Uprising, which has some of the best gameplay in the series, but looks like a Guilty Gear spin-off.

I have been playing it. It's a good game. Otherwise I agree that the graphics are pretty humble. But no, Rouge Corps is a fun game with solid gameplay.

Really crazy game! Maybe I give a shot sometime! xD

Ya your right. I'm willing to bet this is running on emulation. Back when I had my modded psp, alot of the CSOs or ISOs I had were either missing FMVs or music tracks or even textures. One game in particular I remember was the cso of Nightmare Creatures 2. That was a stipped mess

it did. that stationary boss (entirely too many stationary bosses in this game) was supposed to be some sort of floating liver.

It's nice to know they at least tried to keep the artstyle of the previous Contras with the creepy boss designs. Although frankly i agree it wasn't very good. One, Assault: Retribution and even fuckin' Bruce Willis' Apocalypse are far better examples that a good PS1 3D Contra game was possible.

So true. I guess they were trying to o hard to make it 2d and 3d. Neo Contra is fun. .

This game looks more like a N64 game, than a psx game... It's funny how the machine gun shots all go into a straight line, despite that dude doing somersaults lol. Also the textures are heavily borked in some of those fights. Not sure what emulator you used, but the configuration was pretty bad.

Snakes......just snakes......LET'S MAKE A ROBOT SNAKE THAT SHOOT TINY SNAKES, AND THE TINY SNAKES SPLIT VENOM.

Some of the graphics are incomprehensible. What the fuck where you fighting on the train stage? These are the games that literally destroyed the reputation of the series. Shattered soldier was the Savior of the series and that could have been better. Neo was... alright. Contra 4 is what everyone wanted. Still this series deserve a current game. Simple story with super high action. Similar to vanquish.

Those are emulation errors, most likely, the train's textures are supposed to look like Giger's stuffs and the pulsating thing is supposed to look like a peanut.

Ha no wonder they made Contra Shattered Soldier(and this is the first time seeing this game of Contra on Playstation (thinking that it's broken a Broken Contra Game but it's not...lol😆it's fun just...man the 3D at the time.

This game IS NOT CANON to the main series. It's a completely different story. We just don't talk about it anymore.

Sorry, 20 years ago, I play a game on ps1, but I dont know its name. Please help me: It's a 3rd shooter, the main character is similar to Resident evil's Leon. I remember one boss is a giant bee, the cutscene shows it flies from a plant. After that fight, some monster with very long neck appear and you can shoot its head. Please help me!

Hmm.......the mesh of some of the Bosses is kindda Bugged. But meh...... I enjoyed the show though.
