I loved the PlayStation, but it was so sad that it’s Contra games were so mediocre…

That's easy to see why, Konami outsourced it to a western developer, Appaloosa Software, who also did Legacy of War.

Yes,is true,but i liked a lot the version 'Legacy of war' for ps1 for me was the best,ps2 and 3 dint made a better contra

I always wanted to see how the character sees all this, and now with the second stage when you are playing in quite 3D environment, I am very happy

the SNES contra was the best one , the way they made it for ps1 was too outdated for its time.

That main theme in the first level is the main theme from Contra III but just with some notes changes. Appaloosa you tried. But failed lol

В детстве графика этой игры мне казалась такой красивой.

Had the developers made the entire game like the first level I think this would have done better. As a CONTRA fan from the 80’s I really disliked how they kept trying to “reinvent the wheel” with these PS1 entries in the series.

I played the first level was kind of average but second level where game becomes 3rd person, i left it in 5 mins

Konami would rather forget this game, hence why it's never been on the PS1 store for as long as I can remember.

Better than this Contra game yes, but better than a CD based console when it comes to sound and 2D, not a chance. Sega could never win a console generation due to their own blunders, blunders no other company has done to themselves, and so many in rapid succession. There's a reason Sega left the console industry, money, and sheer embarrassment.
