Conservative MP Mark Menzies has denied misusing campaign funds, amid calls for a police investigation by Labour.
Mark Menzies has been suspended by the Tory party, after The Times published claims that he used political donations to pay off people who had locked him in a flat, and demanded money to release him.
In a statement, Mr Menzies said on Wednesday: “I strongly dispute the allegations put to me. I have fully complied with all the rules for declarations. As there is an investigation ongoing I will not be commenting further.”
