Connie Francis - David Frost Show

Музыка

The late Sir David Frost interviewed Connie Francis for his shows on three occasions - February 1970, September 1971 and in 1996. In this VHS to digital transfer of their first interview, one can see and almost feel the immediate rapport between them.
From Sir David's opening comments, it would seem that her appearance had been scheduled as a promotional tie-in with the release of her album 'Connie Francis Sings the Songs of Les Reed'. However, Connie ended her 15-year association with MGM Records just 5-6 weeks prior to the show's broadcast and, instead of singing any selections from her final album for the label, performed the Tom Jones hit "Help Yourself" and Petula Clark's "This Is My Song".
Although vocally Connie was suffering the after effects of a cold, this recording certainly highlights why she is considered an interviewer's dream subject!

I can't imagine why anyone would give this performance and interview a thumbs down. My guess is they must have something against the late David Frost because Connie was her usual amazing self here. Ron, we, as life long fans, owe you so much for all you have done for us with her career. Thank you, yet again, for providing us another rare and interesting look at this unique and beautiful woman. Wow! What a fantastic interview with Connie! Born in 1951, I've loved Connie ever since my aunt bought the 1962 reissue of Connie's "Who's Sorry Now" album (the one with the beautiful, sexy LP cover)!. Since then, it's been a musical love affair with ALL 50+ of Connie's wonderful.MGM albums. After reading Connie's "Who's Sorry Now" autobiography from the 1980s, I knew that Connie could be comical as all get-out, but I had no.idea how sweet and down to earth she is until witnessing this interview for the first time tonight. Connie is a true delight whom I'll treasure for as long as I live. Thank you for sharing this heartwarming and wonderful interview video.

He did great interviews and Connie's performance on this show was very good despite Connie having a cold. I think I've uploaded all I can of Connie's catalog, at least, legitimately. Eventually, I may start uploading favorite songs by my favorite artists. I'd like to see her, I believe two, Larry King interviews.
