The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

This show was filmed on location at he Naval base in Guantanamo Cuba. Connie performed three songs: this country medley comprising songs from her country lp's, a medley of songs with the word "you" in the title in duet with Carol Lawrence and I'll be home for Christmas. The latter is already available on this channel. Here's hoping we will get to see Connie's With a song in my heart from 1964 soon. Thank you so much for sharing yet another great Connie clip! Much appreciated. There's no on like her!

Yes and she first didn't like it until she got into it and recorded it. Then she liked it. Recording in Memphis with those people was big time fun and she learned about it. A lot of fans don't know still about the unreleased Jan 1969 gem called Old Records which was only on one acetate and finally got into the right hands. The people released it in 2017 on a CD called Left in the can. 1960s stars unreleased. The tracks on KZread to hear if anyone is interested. It was only done by Kitty Wells but Connie's version is superior compared to hers.

She recorded it in January 1969! That's before she did Sings the songs of Les Reed if anyone didn't know. What a Beautiful Sentimental Gem! ☺

Hi Joe I just saw you a few times today. Nice to hear she's your mom's fave and that you are a big fan as well. My question is how old are you and are you a long time collector of things and have rare songs, etc? I love talking and making friends with big fans like me. I'm younger but am one of the tops with what I have and know and i usually talk to men who are older with many years into this. :)

❤ 🌟 Connie Francis 🌟 ❤ Come on Universal Music Group put out ALL of her music please! Especially her unreleased songs and concerts and The Connie Francis Show. Please we are all counting on you. Make peace fully with Connie while she is still thankfully with us. Betty White dying at 99 before tiring 100 was the biggest disappointment of the year and on new years. But she was over 100 because she was tiring 100 only in a few weeks and she was alive obviously for months inside her mom. So she did celebrate 100 years technically. ❤ Rip Betty White and keep going strong for us 👑 Connie Francis!

@nosiefish It bothers me because they announced at the start that they only have three years to post videos, and we are now just past the halfway point. So, less videos means there are more videos we will never get to see. I wish they could keep posting until we have seen everything because from what they have posted so far, it looks like they could post most of their archives if they wanted to. There are over 200 performances left I really want to see, many of singers that have still not showed up at all, or have only been posted once (and a few of ones they have posted frequently like Connie, Teresa and Paul). There are especially a lot of performances by Jan Peerce, James Melton, Mario Del Monaco, Nino Martini, Dario Rossini, Franco Correlli, Lauritz Melchior and Richard Tucker doing opera, operetta and pop songs that I want to see, but they don't post tenors too often. They seem to favor baritones except for Sergio Franchi who is also great. There are also a ton of popular music hits from the '50's they haven't posted. Vocal groups and solo singers that had big hits during that time and the early '60's. I'm thankful for all they have posted and how they are striving for more variety, but I can't help wanting to see it all. If only they were posting 8 videos or so a day, especially if it was almost all music! (To each his own, but I'm here for the music).

@nosiefish Absolutely! If they didn't post filler videos like the novelty acts and a lot of the comedians, I wouldn't mind less videos either. I realize that they were a part of the show make-up, but I think the majority of people are here for music. In my opinion, it's most important to get all the musical performances out there.
