Today is February 10th 2023, yesterday, February 9th , 2023, Burt Bachara died and and left us an incredible legacy with his wonderful! Stay with God, rest in peace! I want to leave my feelings here: I am from the generation 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, 2023 nowadays! Each wonderful artist like him who leaves us, it's like a little piece of us was gone too. I am very lucky to have lived this wonderful time! God bless them and us!

I am 64. I was brought up with this music . It takes me back to the 60’s and living at home with my parents in England. Sadly my mum has pass away. My Dad is 94 and still going strong!!!!

Nothing to say but am in full agreement with everyone. Bacharach's music, Hal's words, Dionne Warwick and Karen Carpenter are sounds made in heaven.

Burt Bacharach's music and Andy Williams' singing. A combination made in heaven.

Burt had more talent than any composer- with the ability to make us feel every emotion from joy, lightness of spirit and love. I miss him already

My father was a Vietnam vet too. I was a young boy in 1966 when we brought my father to the airport on a flight to Saigon with his fellow Special Forces mates. When we got home my teary eyed mother played “A Summer Place” sung by Andy Williams. I still remember staring out the window listening to this melancholic song and missing my father. I still have the record album.

Hal David, his lyricist, should be honored as one of the 20th century’s greats also.

As a teenager in the 1970s, I dismissed music like this as too old fashion, now we are in 2020, after being in a band, opening my mind to various genres of music, I am now listening to this music that just shines with such class...Oh how I was wrong...Thats me being a teenager....

This mix was so sweet. Tunes of my school years 60's-early 70's. Some peacefulness in a very abusive family life. Haven't listened to Mr. Williams for nearly 50 yes... one good thing about having a cell phone!

I once met Andy in Manchester UK at his birthday party charity event with my late mother. It was at millionaires night club. I also saw his show at Halifax Civic Theatre UK which was wonderful. 43 years on and I still love his performances. RIP Andy

I was born in 1969 and I am the youngest in the family. I have 4 elder siblings. The generation rap is wide. My eldest brother was 20 when I was just 1.. In my house, the family enjoy a wide range of musical genre. I'm now turning 50. I miss the music of 60s 70s and 80s. It's pure music and not garbage like we have today

My favorite Christmas album ever is an Andy Williams record. I remember his show as well, my parents used to watch when I was growing up. There were so many good variety shows back then. Now it's all "reality" junk that I could care a less about!

Burt Bacharach is such a big part of the reason that I still play keyboards. Andy Williams voice is pure and unique. Love them both.

Because he broke the rules in songwriting. He was an innovator. He was told that his style would not work. Very courageous. He proved them wrong His phrasing key changes modulations Time changes in songs were brilliant and of course his mixtures of music were fresh and emotionally rewarding

I couldn’t agree with you more, been saying that for the last 10 years, even wrote the Kennedy center several times encouraging them to honor his genius. I understand their branching out to honor genres never considered prior, but Amy Grant, Gloria Estefan and others still had time to be honored. Not honoring him was their most blatant oversight ever!

Two of the best musicians of all time and I never get tired of listening to both of them Burt Bacharach and Andy Williams. Mr. Bacharach is very passionate about all his compositions, it shows with his overall personality and yet very humble to share to all his listeners like me. I simply love their music and singing style!

I needed this today, like finding gold at a junkyard.

I was born 9 days before this aired - I have always loved Burt!

More talent between those two than the entire music industry today.

When younger generations talk about music of the sixties inevitably they become enamored with the Beatles, the Stones, Dylan and all of the rock and folk acts associated with that era. THIS is the music of that period! The sophisticated songs of composers like Bacharach performed by great singers like Andy Williams! This is music- not social commentary, protest or fads.

gnshapiro I would argue the the Beatles WERE a fad- they didn’t last that long! However, their legacy certainly has! And of course, they were great! They redefined popular music in the sense they were both the songwriters as well as the performers. Yet musically Bacharach was infinitely more sophisticated. Dylan, on the other hand is simply not a musician, he is a poet. His LYRICS may define the protest attitude of the sixties but his music is not remarkable.

I really enjoy both artists (Beatles and Bacharach) very much; I'm not anti-Bacharach at all, but there's just no basis, in my view, for seeing him in such transcendent terms. They are both forms of pop music--with different styles to be sure--but both extremely creative, original, and beautiful.

Totally agree with you! I'm from 61 too... and, fortunately, have grown up listening to compositions as wonderful as these. By the way: I'm Brazilian, so I've also listened to Tom Jobim and some great Bossa Nova (New Wave) of our native composers. And my mother have always been Mr. Sinatra's great fan; who I've learned to appreciate too, as well as Ms. Vaughan, Ms. Fitzgerald, and so on... Goooood times!

Andy and Burt, a couple of treasures we'll never quite ever see or hear again. Both generous and natural talents. Felt very sad for Andy and the Longet part of his life, it was indeed heartbreaking. RIP Andy/Burt and thanks for all the beautiful memories!

Absolute class. Phenominal talent in the composer and the singer. Two of the greatest. What a performance, that couldn't be matched these days. The vocal range of Andy was outstanding and he had one of the smoothest clearest voices we shall ever hear.

A time when romance and music were hand in hand.

I’m Brazilian and grew up listening to special and talented American composers such as Buch Bacharach thanks to my father who had an eclectic taste for good music, and taught me and my siblings to appreciate it. Burt Bacharach was one of my favorites.

Thank you, BURT BACHARACH for doing your part to help tame mankind with your gift and talent. Your music was the soundtrack of my once young life and still. Your legacy is sealed.

What a phenomenal instrument this man's voice was. Combine that with the genius of Burt Bacharach and the killer arrangement backup singers and studio musicians .No need for any fools with thier pants falling off and hats on backwards.

Seeing the audience in this clip I couldn't help wondering what it must have been like to be there.....

RIP to Mr Burt Bacharach and Andy Williams they’re singing now in heaven.

Watch the young ladies staring at Andy during the song. Back then it was about quality and talent. You can see it in their faces. Today it’s about pure stupidity and wanting to worship the moronic low brow lifestyle that benefits no one but the performer. People like Andy Williams will be remembered long after 99% of today’s so called talent is long gone.

Got to work with Mr Williams,a class act.Watch the microphone position.It stays in pretty much the same spot no matter if he’s singing low and soft or high and loud.Total control over his voice where most singers today don’t have that control and must move the mic around to compensate.RIP Mr.Williams.

I just saw Burt Bacharach give a concert in Beverly Hills just two months ago, accompanying various soloists at the piano. He's 92 or so and going strong.

I am 52. 60s ,70s , 80s.....the best time & era for movies and songs! Beautiful simple generations! Smiling face on the street is common!!

Back in those days performers had so much stylish class. Handsome dudes, beautiful women. The days of our country's great music, I think. Even the Beatles wore those great tailor-cut suits.

Burt playing and Andy singing that song, what the world needs now, is LOVE sweet LOVE. If only the world could see that love is not a fuzzy feeling, but love instead is each person wanting the greatest good for our fellow man! Love thy neighbor as thyself! Do good to everyone! And then that song bursts out from every direction, and the love of God is perfected in all our lives!

I used to think Andy Williams looked like my dad. True class act....not like the crap we have now.

I saw this back then, I was 14 years old. still listening Nov, 2019 Andy Williams had an incredible voice,

I grew up listening musics like that with my father. He teached me what good music is all about. RIP Burt and my father.

Two absolute class acts - Andy Williams had an unforgettable voice and Burt Bacharach's music will live forever.

Pure class. Nothing close anymore.

Now THIS is what I'm talking about. A nice bit of silly humour to start with, delivered in that perfect easy-going Andy Williams style. And then we glide into a gorgeous medley of Burt Bacharach songs. Smooth. Effortlessly sophisticated. Utterly delicious. What's not to love about this?

What a performance. Andy W.was clearly pitch perfect. He began each vocal without a pitch cue. Stunning.

(5:16) Look at the expression on the face of the young lady in the front row. First a quick little smile, then the deep admiration for Andy and his singing. Priceless! Andy Williams the best of the best.

What the world need now is Love Sweet Love. (1968) its 2022-2023 soon. The song should be played loud by people who care.

My God, the talent and sophistication is amazing.
