The entire situation with Billy Mitchell is the biggest case of Streisand Effect I've seen in recent years. This wasn't the final nail in the coffin. This was the incineration. My older sister is a lawyer. She said that even in a deposition, lying is considered perjury because you're still under oath. Just based on that, I think that Billy is going to prison. When the judge decides his punishment, I'm going to cheer.

people RARELY go to jail over prejury. People lie on the stand, right infront of the judge, and nothing happens all the time. He will be in more trouble for faking evidence. Hes probably not gonna go to jail, probably wont pay his legal fees for the first year or two after he loses, and then finally after being threatened with more sanctions and jail time, Billy will pay the fines and fees. Billy will likely wait as long as humanly possible to give them their money.

It's crazy. I've been catching up on the latest developments the last year via these videos and at this point I'm convinced Billys lawyers just keep this thing alive to milk him. Considering he tried to have that other KZreadr give Karl strikes for the usage of that video without actually understanding current law or rulings on the matter... He clearly expected he could threaten Karl to silence. And we know how well that worked :)

Nothing screams 'confidence in your case' more than "Everything must be confidential and the defendants aren't allowed to talk among themselves"

Nicely done Karl. Just remember you stated years ago that your channel is not primarily controversy; don’t let Billy push you to be the angry man he is and wants you to appear to be. I’d love more speedrun content again, keep us in the loop, just don’t lose sight of a clean victory.

There are also tons of people of all ages, from all over the world, who support and believe Elon Musk, who loves to lie and spread conspiracy theories, regardless of how easy they are to debunk. So, as much as I hate to say it, it's just as easy to lie today as it was 40 years ago. In fact, I would say that it's actually easier to lie today because so many people actively reject reality now and it's easier today than in bygone years to find an echo chamber to reinforce what you already want to believe.

Seriously. Even if he wanted to lie about the testing, when shown the video you just say that you forgot about that time. If it was a one off thing with a small comment that happened while playing the game, most people would understand that you might not have been paying close attention and forgot about it later. Even if that's a lie too, no one can prove what you do or don't remember. Instead he feels compelled to blatantly lie which is only going to make people think that he's trying to intentionally hide stuff.

billy probably will be immortalized in a case study about pathological lying disorder

Plenty of other people have criticized and talked badly about his character but he doesn’t sue them because they’re rich and have resources at their disposal (like Adam Sandler, who made an entire movie satirizing Billy Mitchell, and Notch the creator of Minecraft, who has spoken badly of Mitchell and has donated to Karl’s GoFund). Billy goes after people he thinks will back down with petty threats. He just didn’t think Karl would fight back and have his whole community supporting him. Guy’s a bully and a coward.

Lying under oath feels so unpunished nowadays. Can’t believe there’s literally no additional charges for him. I guess you can lie all you want directly at lawyers and judges faces and make the entire judicial system a joke as long as you’re just gonna lose the case anyways.

The funniest thing about this saga to me is that it’s obvious these videos have been sitting on the back burner for weeks but jobst was FINALLY legally cleared to post them all which shows billy Mitchell doesn’t stand a single chance. Video after video daily recently have been killing it and I support.

As an american with a passing (IANAL) understanding of the state of the law, perjury in the US is rarely prosecuted, and jail time is employed even less. So while it could land billy in jail, it’s more likely to just cost him more on damages. Just to keep expectations managed. Great work Karl!

Perjury on its own, I'm pretty sure you're right. But when your ask someone else to also commit perjury, I do think that might raise the stakes a little, particularly if there's also a money angle. I'm not that tuned into local and federal criminal law in the US but it seems to me that this comes rather close to conspiracy to commit fraud.

@@eddierusset he is already branded fraud for life by anyone who gives a shit - but, he already was. they were dumb enough to act like shitheads on a documentary, they clearly showed that twin galaxies was not a fair esports platform when day and billy ran it. this cost them untold millions of money and shows how incompetent they were and that was just right at the time when esports was picking up more speed from just cs tournaments and stuff like that. it's a market if they weren't incompetent frauds they could have made a lot of money from, they were there on day 1 but people just passed them as an option because they were dumb f***s. think about it, day was in a position where he could have been karl, the dad of the community. if billy wasn't obsessed with getting an another forever record he wouldn't have needed to cheat, if he had just approached it with sportsmanship he could have been the grand old man and could have done actual pr for esports. instead he chose to be an asshat and couldn't even understand the game enough so that even his cheated records got beaten without cheating.

I wonder how the lawyer is so patient. "Did you do X?" "No" "Here is video of you doing X that you said you didn't do. Did you do X?" "Well yes, but I would have done it either way." "So you lied about saying you didn't do X?" "No" At that point, the whole trial should be thrown out and him slapped for Prudery not even 2 minutes after the given statement. I am surprised people don't get thrown for that more often.

I FINALLY saw Pixels yesterday and had heard that Peter Dinklage's character was loosely based on Mitchell (to the point that Mitchell actively promoted the movie as seen by the first image in this video). What I DIDN'T realize is that eventually it's shown that Dinklage's character was a cheater; it's literally his defining character flaw. Maybe the producers knew something Karl did as well.

Casting Peter Dinklage was a power move for that movie since IIRC in a court of law to claim that a character was defamatory and based on you, you have to also claim everything about the character. And I'm not sure that claiming you are a midget is on anyone's to do list.

Assuming you don't take it too far it actually worked out amazing for him. I mean it was coming out that he was a fake anyway but he could have slunk into the shadows and lead a good life of ease. From the way Billy describes it, I picture a kind of nature documentary setting starring Carlos. "Here, the researchers have set up a Donkey Kong machine in the Billy's habitat. They would like to run a few video tests, but the Billy never seems to play when they try to get him to. Instead, they need to wait within a blind set up behind the machine for the Billy to decide to start playing on his own in order to run those tests. We shouldn't have to wait too long."

Billy has to regret doing the King of Kong documentary for sure lol. Brought soooo much attention to his glass house that it didn't take long for its cracked foundation to be pointed out. Hated this guy since that doc, couldn't have happened to a more deserving lying, power hungy, narcissist. And your work is AWESOME!! Love your channel and the greatness you provide!!

I'm not sure if that's that simple. Karl lives in Australia, if Billy loses and refuses to pay anything he could get away with, just never visiting Australia ever again. I'm not sure if he ever visited the country, but I know he called there and hired a lawyer.

It's not murder or anything like that, but an ex-family member trying to get an inheritance because a divorce apparently didn't go trough in the second country the individuals were married in. They have been divorced for over 30 years.
