I ran into Adam Sandler at a concert in LA ages ago. He was just hanging out in the regular section with the rest of us. I said hi to him and told him I enjoy his work. I figured he'd say thanks and then want me to leave him alone, but he was super friendly and asked me questions about myself when I started to walk away. He seemed like a genuinely nice and humble guy.

I think they were fascinated by all those nostalgic stories. So they didn't want to interfere, there was no need to add anything, to be honest.
Early 90s SNL was the best. Amazing how they all stayed friends. Spade, sandler, schneider, rock, conan, dana... Farley woulda been right there with em

The best of Conan is really coming out now, he's no longer tied down by the requirements of TV. And the same of everyone else on with him, not just the guests, his own employees too. A lot more real, basically what he's always aimed to do, as much as possible. Good on him squirreling away his paychecks all those years before, using those earnings to set up production he fully owns and controls.
7:22 that Spade impression 🤣 can totally imagine David saying that 😆💕👍
adam always does the same thing any time he talks about the salad days. in this case they talk about chris rock not being CHRIS ROCK, and sandler interjects talking about him getting there after snl. even when conan talked about schneider making his way into downey's ofice, sandler hears that it may make schneider sound weasily, so he makes it a point to mention schneider was a hard worker. i've seen him do this in other interviews. its nice.

Conan indicates that he was jealous of Schneider. Maybe Downey saw something in Schneider he didn't see in Conan -- and as a fan of e.g. Big Stan I think that's okay.

@@JosephScott-ct9sw Conan was always a writer before an actor, He wrote for the simpsons as well. I think if anything it bothered him the actor was in the Headwriter's room pitching ideas.

@@BrostroTheWizard "the actor was" Conan acted in 23 episodes of SNL, starting in 1988. Rob was hired by SNL as a writer, not an actor, in 1988, first acted on SNL in 1990, and wrote for 43 episodes of SNL. He and Conan were both employed by SNL as writers and actors and both had a right to try to talk to Jim, and Jim was a big boy who could talk to who he wanted to talk to.

As Norm Macdonald rightly pointed out, there are way too many hindsight kisser uppers that think this way about Sandler and his crew’s tenure there but the truth is that at the time no one really liked it at all
That Adam sandler joke on shaq was hilarious moment on Conan show. Love conan from 🇮🇳
Super fun to get some insight for how writing for SNL was for them. "I felt like a fighter jet pilot" lmao
I love hearing famous people talk about their beginnings, especially when it's two famous greats. Awesome interview.
Adam, Farley, Schneider, Rock, Spade, etc were the iconic SNL for me. Everyone has their group depending on their age and stuff and I was a bit young so Ferrell's group was more dialed into my age range as an '89 baby but the reruns of Adam's group were always the best.
nothing more flattering then seeing 2 of the BEST comics that EVER lived fkn with each other ! TY !!!

Great episode!
I remember seeing Adam on SNL for the first time and going, "That's the dude that does the skits on Remote Control!". It was a show on MTV. Colin Quinn was on that too.
It never occurred to me that Conan and Adam crossed paths. I don't even know what cast Conan worked with. I love these behind the scenes stories.

It was just announced that Adam Sandler was the highest paid actor in 2023. He made $73 million last year (granted, most of it is because of his production company).
You’re the best Sandman! Starts a production company and gets all his friends paid. Who tf does that now? Just a simple goat who lives on the back…..of a piccckup truck!!!

HOLY SH$t…….Conan u do need a friend. If the words were in a tally Conan’s side would be pitch black. Just talked the entire time like he is retired! Ha Love u big red Ruff ruff woof woof
all i wanna watch is SNL alumni, doing impressions of each other and Lorne
I'll save you about 10 minutes: Conan: Says something. Adam: "Yeah, uhu... Yeah,hmm... Yeah, uhu."
What I'm getting from this is that when Conan hasn't slept for 40 hours he turns into Clint Eastwood.
"those mornings when you'd wake up nuts and your stomach hurt from a whole night of being... n ... no sleep..."
How to see the whole vid
Upon arrival: "I gotta go.' That's a New England thing.
Free milkshakes at work. That's the life
This was great but it would be better if there was more Mac n' Me.
Hogies and grinders...Take that Bob. 😅
In a world of "comedian" podcasters that have no talent whatsoever it's mind blowing to me that this one doesn't get more views. Conan is very funny, but his true talent is just riffing with anyone and adding to the other person's thoughts. It's so refreshing to hear a normal conversation without hacky clowns shouting bs over the top of each other and cackling like sheep.
They should make a movie about snl
I wonder what happened to those handwritten scripts. How cool would it be to have one!
