I love how Conan runs with whatever anecdote his guests are discussing. In doing so, he is showing them how clever and funny they are for thinking that way without having to say it out loud. The guest then relaxes completely and opens up to the audience. A pleasure to watch people banter in this way.

Lol I thought my internet was crapping out. Fantastic edit.
Conan is a funny guy haha. Alright let's get back to the main topic here. What an assualt on the senses these edits, my god! One of the transitions had a frame of just WHITE after the hard cut. It really evokes confusion and great suspense and no matter how many time it's used, you always get puzzled when it happens again. Some would think it just happened because of inexperience but there is intention and artistic merit here and I would like know the thought process behind it as an aspiring editor.
2020 was a tough year…even the transitions suffered
