I didnt even consider Werner Herzog could be on Conan when I thought about what guests could be great on this podcast, but just seeing the title im beyond excited to hear the full thing. Herzog is just so intense, odd and endearingly entertaining. uniquely articulate and very perceptive. I think about him every time I see chickens roam. Oh, love Herzog to bits for decades! Such a rare sincere minute on Conan laughter-fest! These particular stories are so poignant, they humble us to think how blessed we are, especially who live in English-speaking part of the 21 century world, not to split a loaf of bread for a week with despair in our eyes whenever your child comes and you have nothing to feed them. Or not to hear bombs flying and someone will armedly hate you for being born the wrong race/country/nationality. So thank you Conan for an unexpected minute of not-laugher for a change.

I listened to the entire podcast (not just these excerpts). This is a fantastic interview and one of the best that Conan has ever done. I first became captivated by Werner Herzog when I attended college some forty plus years ago. Herzog is one of the most singular individuals and his oeuvre is significant. His comments about the current Left Right divide that plagues America are insightful and spot on. I find these observations reminiscent of Alexis de Tocqueville when he first wrote about the American Experience. An outsider is often more able to recognize the greatness of this country than the inhabitants themselves. Bravo Conan.
