That Monorail episode was career defining for Conan and led him to better opportunities in life.

Conan recently said somewhere that he and Andy aren't actually as close as he'd like and they have quite separate lives. It's hard to believe even after hearing from the man himself, watching this.

I'm with Conan on the mushrooms thing. Never trust anything that grows without sunlight or causes Italian plumbers to double in size

Conan might have been the best Simpsons writer. Listen to the people that wrote with him and they all praise him. Yes, he only wrote 3 full episodes and the wrap-around for the Treehouse of Horrors, but 2 of his scripts are top 10 episodes. The monorail and Homer Goes to College should be on everyone's top 10 list.

​@@obnoxiousfaryas the question at 1:45 was what does andy find annoying about conan. he said it was conan never shutting up, constantly talking, endless babbling james joyce was an author/writer whose writing style was similar to how our consciousness is: an internal, endless monologue without punctuation or anything. unlike the proper sentences people usually write and talk in. the writing style is an attempt to mimic a character's thought process -- to show how chaotic and all over the place it is, instead of in neat and proper sentences so, andy is saying there are days where conan just can't shut up and stop talking about whatever. conan, in a witty manner, says he isn't endlessly babbling but rather is talking in a "joycean" way. he says this in a way to make his babbling come off as smart and sophisticated, thus why both of them end of bursting into laughter

Without Andy, Conan would not have been able to survive by himself when he first started. Andy was laid back and hilarious, and Conan was a bit nervous and jittery. I think Andy helped Conan ease up and that’s why Conan was able to get better.

I don’t know what the general consensus is on Conan, but I like him. I think he can be over the top sometimes, but mostly funny and charming.

As mentioned here, I also love the cameo work he's done in other shows. My all-time favorite is his one episode on Monk. Another fave where he is a semi-recurring character is in The New Adventures of Old Christine. He plays a very cringey guy but is SO FUNNY that I can enjoy it. 😂 (I'm one of those people who can't take cringe humor sometimes because it just makes me CRINGE too much even while appreciating the joke(s)! 😁)
